Camping

Over Memorial Day weekend, we camped!  We love camping!  And we had perfect weather (shocking for MO!).  Our Bishop in our ward has a big farm out in New Haven and we camped down by the little lake.  It was great…the kids swam and played in the sand, and all us moms decided camping with sand wasn’t our fave!  But we still had a lot of fun!  The kids especially!

We have the best family and friends!  Jer, Briggs, Cammie and Cade, Ali, Madeleine, Dan and me, Steve, Molly and Olivia.  Jesse and Kasey were playing guitar and singing and Ben was fishing in the dark!

Preschool for Steve

Starting in January, our YMCA did an ABC Y preschool 3 mornings a week.  Steve loved it.  They did all kinds of fun projects and learned the basics.  I’m not sure I would qualify it as real preschool, but it was perfect for Steve right now.  And next year I have him enrolled in a “real” preschool!

For their end of the year/graduation, the kids performed a few songs for us parents.  Steve got super shy, which apparently shocked his teacher!  But it was still cute.

Happy Mother’s Day

For Mother’s Day, the men made us dinner at Liz and Charlie’s house.  We had salmon and rice and salad…YUM!  Ben makes THE BEST salmon!  It was nice spending time together, as always.

Weekend Getaway

I don’t know where May went…but it’s now well into June and I seem to have forgotten May!

We began the month taking a much needed little weekend getaway, just Jesse and me.  We went to Lake of the Ozarks and spent 2 nights and 2 days just relaxing and spending time together.  We came home Saturday and spent the afternoon and night in a kid free home.  We met our kids (who had stayed with Ben and Cammie) at church on Sunday.  Seriously…it was a great trip!  After a crazy tax season, we both needed it!

This is Jesse’s dream car, almost.  There was a car show going on while we were there that was fun walking around and dreaming…well Jesse was dreaming, I just liked looking! ;)

We had such a good time, and are so grateful for family like Ben and Cammie to take our kids!  Thanks guys!
