Seven for Sunday

A little update about the happiest things from this week:
1. On Tuesday, Camden got his cast off! Woo hoo!  It still bugs him to move it certain ways, but the stiffness decreases each day.
2. On Tuesday, Camden decided he wanted to learn how to snap his fingers.  He's been practicing nearly all day, every day.  And yesterday, he got it, and with both hands.
3. Mckay is starting to use more words, expressions, and hand signs. Mostly, he still claps or giggles for "yes", and we definitely know "no", but he's starting to nod and shake his head, too.  He is so delightful right now!
4. Two weeks of nursery (at church) for Mckay!  He ran straight there and waited at the nursery door until someone opened it for him.  Yippee!
5.  We got to attend a baby sealing a week ago.  I think baby sealings have to be one of the most special experiences I have ever experienced.
6. Kids played in the first snow yesterday.  Just a light dusting, but they were sure excited!  Camden LOVES the snow.  Nate doesn't like to be cold, but will stay outside for a little bit.  Mckay was up in arms about me putting him to bed without going outside first, so I got him all bundled up.  That kid really loves going outside.
7. On Thursday, Sister Ann Dibb came to speak to our stake.  She is absolutely wonderful!  I sortof expected her to speak as President Monson's daughter, I guess.  However, she was so real--witty and down to earth, but graceful and dignified.  A few notes about Pres. Monson:  President Monson has NEVER EATEN PIZZA!  His favorite food is a turkey dinner.  Anyway, her address was really wonderful, and I am very grateful she came.

Man, I just want to eat this kiddo up!

Lots of people tell me Mckay looks just like Camden, and yep, I can definitely see a resemblance!

 Snow day!

 Coming in after face planting in the mud.  His head was lower than his feet, and he just couldn't get up.  Happy, anyway!

Nate's stocking

This stocking is a little bit representative of Nate himself--it was a lot more complicated than I thought it would be, but I would choose it all over again! Playful, happy, sparkly, and a deep capacity to feel and share joy!  You can't see it very well, but there are sparkly threads through all the snowflakes, the hats, and the blue letters.  I didn't even know it was sparkly when I choose it, but the sparkles connect it to Nate even more.  Anyway, SOO glad I'm done!  

Here's Camden's stocking  (When I made it, I imagined him being the one at the top, putting on the star, but now I would imagine him as the one at the bottom, giving directions!)

And a sneak peak at the one I hope to have finished for Mckay next year (Yeah, right! Maybe in 2 more years!)





I just think those polar bears sort of look like Mckay! (And the whole stocking only has white, a few shades of grey, red, pink, purple, and black.  The blue part is the fabric, not stitches.  Hopefully Joann's will have a good Black Friday sale with free shipping!)

Maryland, Port Discovery Museum

On Thursday, we needed a relaxing day.  We stayed at Grandma's house in the morning, and then the boys stayed at home with Grandma while the rest of us went shooting.  I learned I like handguns better than rifles. 

 

On Friday, we visited the Port Discovery Museum, which is a children's museum.  This was a favorite, for sure!  There are three stories, with lots of fun things on each level.  But the middle space is open all the way up.  There is a giant climbing playground, with tunnels, ladders, rock climbing walls, ropes, etc, etc.  My friend told us a few things: Don't wear flip-flops, and each kid needs an adult.  Boy, was she right!  We're glad Grandma and Grandpa would follow Mckay around.  Nate loved, loved, loved the climbing!  Camden felt sad because it was tricky with his sling.  By the end, he could do some of it with help.  It was so fun!
