Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve and Christmas were truly wonderful days!
Not only was the anticipation level high but the moods and attitudes of the children was wonderful!  They were eager to help and actually enjoyed being with each other. A true Christmas Miracle!

The Answer Is...

Many have asked where our loyalty would be in last nights game...

It was hard to cheer against the U but our loyalty is with the Broncos!

Emmy's friend Katie joined us and had to join in the Blue and Orange fun so she borrowed one of Steve's shirt.

When the game was in hand Eli decided it was time to just relax and let the good times roll.

What are we going to do until September?!!!
At least we'll be at the season opener right here in Georgia!!! Whew Hew!!

Too Funny

Steve and I were out doing a few things last weekend and walked through the book isle at Wal-mart.  These books were side by side...not kidding!!  Just made us chuckle!  Maybe they should sell them together and for every 90 minutes you spend in heaven you get to spend 23 minutes in hell...at least heaven is longer!!!!

Our Elf

Eli put on the Santa hat and thought he looked like Jangle, our Elf of the Shelf.  So he was hiding and Steve was finding "Eli-Jangle".  He hid under the piano bench!!! We love this kid!

This and That

December is rolling along.  The countdown is on and the elf is watching!!!
There have been choir concerts, piano recitals and just life keeping us busy!!

Here's a little bit of the happenings:

A visit with Santa at the elementary school.  I am still amazed that Eli isn't afraid, I guess he's a tough boy!  Even Alyssa has to be pushed a little bit!

Steve spent all day last Friday at the school as a Watch Dog (Dad of Great Students).  Alyssa was soooo excited, it was a big deal for her.  Not only did her dad get to hang out with her a good portion of the day but she got to be on the school news broadcast!  They all had a good day and Steve came with a sore hand from high fiving every kid in the school at least once!!!

Emmy had some friends over Friday night.  Whew hew!!!  Seven 13 year old girls really can make a house rock!!! Eli was in hog heaven...he had many girlfriends that all wanted him around, hope this isn't a sign of things to come!!!

Crystal Snowflake

Tonight was the 5th grade holiday musical and Meghan had one of the leads.  She was MARVELOUS

This little gal has a pretty powerful voice that she has just discovered and we all enjoy listening to her!!

The musical is called Santa's Play list. The premise is that Santa needs to update from records to MP3 players and I-pods and all these different groups are trying to say that their play lists are the best. Meghan was Crystal Snowflake and well she is a  Broadway Diva and boy does she play the part well!!!

Georgia Aquarium

Before we said good-bye to Brent and Ashley (which was hard, we wanted them to stay forever!!) we went to the Aquarium. 
There is something fascinating about fish and very calming. We sat and watched them for a long time. Very peaceful!

The first stop was the eel garden. These little eels look like seaweed. 

 

The pictures can't capture the color and beauty of all these fish...but we tried!!

 This is what Ashley wanted to see!!  This is a whale shark and they are HUGE!  There are 3 of them at the aquarium.  We had a front row seat in the ballroom and just watched them swim for a long time. The best part was watching them get fed. They would open their mouths and gallons of water would go in. It's hard to describe but we all thought it was amazing!

Eli loved Brent!! They had a great time together!!

We saw the real Santa!!! We've always told the kids that some of the Santas in the malls and various locations are stand ins because the real Santa has to be in the North Pole making preparations but we are all sure Santa made an appearance in Georgia on Saturday!  He looked at Meggy and knew a few things that only the real Santa would know!  Pretty cool!
