The past few weekends I have been pampered and spoiled (hopefully not spoiled rotten). It all began April 29th when my sister and I flew to Utah for a girls weekend getaway - complete with my mom, sisters, aunts, cousins, newest niece, and grandma. Many of us attended Women's Conference - so uplifting, encouraging, and really an emotional high. We also enjoyed shopping, eating out, giggling until our bellies couldn't take it anymore, a small but no-less-fun Bridal Shower for Becca, an adventure in taking bridal pictures of Becca amidst the threatening rain clouds, etc.
The following weekend (Mother's Day Weekend) was another blissful retreat for me. It was the Fathers & Sons Outing - which can I just say that I think they should ALWAYS schedule it for Mother's day weekend because really what better gift could there be? As the boys headed out Friday morning at 8:00 so did I, but I went to Glendale to hang out with Corri. I was there for 9 hours and it was a BLAST! Here's what we did: (1) sewed one of two custom curtain panels for her master bedroom, (2) glazed one of two nightstands to give a more shabby-chic look, (3) spray painted lamps heirloom white to add to the shabby-chic look, (4) conquered the bookcase in her office that was literally "barfing" books out - now it's quite organized and pleasing to look at, (5) transferred many of those books to the shelves in her front room to make them functional, balanced, and beautiful, (6) went to Home Depot and picked out hardware and made plans for a makeover of her closet doors, (7) stained a globe - thriftstore treasure. WOW! Then I came home and started Becca's wedding guest sign-in book.
Saturday was equally full... I woke up at 5:45 (Jared was SHOCKED to hear this) to go to a local flea market. I'd always wanted to check it out, but never wanted the haul the boys with me or coax Jared into watching them for me on his day off for such an activity. Anyway, so I drove all the way out there and can I just say HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! Lame through and through. They say they open at 7:00 but by 8:00 still half of the booths were closed. But even so, it was lame... airbrushed t-shirts, dashboard mats, luggage, ugly clothes, southwestern metal decor, ugly clothes, indian relics, shamwows, and ugly clothes. Ugh! So I came back home and cleaned and decorated my little heart out (pictures to come). Then I mowed the front and back yards and took a shower. By now it was 1:00 and I figured I had a few more hours until the boys returned from their outing so I went shopping - on a hunt for a cute modest summery dress that would work for Becca's wedding. I looked at JCPenney, Macys, Dillards, Sears, Downeast, Target, Kohls, Ross, TJMaxx, Dress Barn, Styles, and Old Navy. You think I had any luck? NOPE! Sheesh, I didn't think it would be this difficult. I did find a few treasures at the Goodwill by my house since it was 50% Off Saturday - pictures of that to come too.
It's been pretty nice to have some "me" time. It still amazes me how much I accomplished in just 2 days while I had my hands free. Although I'm pretty sure I still accomplish things when I have my hands full, they're just different things and they take 10 times as long to do :)

I'm so glad you had some just "Karli" time. It sounds like you were very productive and had a lot of fun! Good for you.
I am with you on the find a dress...I did finally find a place that had some that I liked, they just didn't have my size...good luck on that one!
I am so glad that you have been pampered. You truly deserve it. You are always serving other people and are so selfless.
