2008 is coming to a close

What a great year!!! Highlights for the year...

Feb-found out I was pregnant

April- Went on a trip to Moab with some friends

July- Graduated college

August- went to Washington for a week to see Benjamin's family

moved to Utah

November- Had Daxton

December- Great Christmas 

Daxton is one month old.

Christmas was great. I got a runner stroller which I'm very excited about!!! I've wanted to go for a run for such a long time!! I couldn't run when I was pregnant, unless I felt like peeing my pants(no thanks) So I walked a lot in my pregnancy instead!! Benjamin got a bunch of small things he mentioned through out the year, he loved them all. It was nice to see my family. 

One of the best parts about Christmas was that my mother took care of Daxton for a night. I got 8 straight hours of sleep , it was a amazing to say the least!!

Daxton is doing well, he is starting to move his head around with a lot more control. I think he is starting to see me better because he looks at my eyes and mouth more, you can tell the wheels are spinning and he is trying to figure out how to move his mouth.  Daxton is very alert, is a huge cuddle bug, and loves to be wrapped up tight. Motherhood is not the easiest thing out there but it's going well.

After thanksgiving lunch Benjamin and I came home and watched a movie together and off to bed-still pregnant and on my due date!!! Well I got up to go to the restroom for the billionth time! and I noticed my water broke, not a lot, but enough to notice. This was at midnight and we went to bed at 11 pm, so we started labor with only one hour of sleep!!  Needless to say after the event we both crashed!

We put the bags in the car and drove to my parents house because they live closer to the hospital. We labored at my parents house until 5 am and then took off to the hospital. By the time I was checked in and in my room I was 6-7 cm. Benjamin and I took the Bradley method child birthing classes; which is a natural child birth. So we put into action what we learned and everything went great! There is no way I would have been able to do childbirth natural if it wasn't for Benjamin. He is my strength and I love him dearly, he was the perfect labor coach! and we made a great team. 

I started pushing at about 9:45 am and Daxton was born at 11:11 am. The DR. was about to use the vacuum, but I got Daxton out in time. The reason Daxton got stuck was because he had his hand/arm by his face, so the head was not the hardest part to deliver! But he came.

The experience was prefect and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!!! 

We came home on Sunday afternoon and Benjamin came down with a stomach virus- lets just say that it wasn't pretty for two days. This was a little tough because Benjamin couldn't help with the baby because we didn't want Daxton to get sick and I was trying to recover. My mom was able to stay with us for a few days and then Benjamin's mom is staying for a few days as well. THANK YOU MOMS!!! Having our moms here made it easier to come home and start the new family that we now have.

Waiting is killing me, BUT since I have not had the baby yet Benjamin and I are going to the UofU vs. BYU game today with my parents, it should be a lot of fun. Maybe if I jump up and down a lot I will go into labor!! Keep your fingers crossed.

Our Furniture

We finally bought a couch and a matching recliner. It's a micro-suede, or micro-fiber, whatever you want to call it. It looks like leather in the picture but it doesn't truly look like that. We love it, it's very exciting to have furniture after being married 3 years!!!

Belly with 3 weeks to go

So here I am with only 3 weeks to go, 37 weeks along. I'm feeling great except I'm tired of being elbowed on my right side all the time. The doctor said I can have the baby whenever I start labor. I just went in the other day and I'm 2 cm dilated, 50% thinned, baby is at a low station, and I lost weight in between visits (which the doctor says happens to a lot of women before the baby comes). I think I'm ready for Daxton to come, at least I have all the supplies: car seat, clothes, diapers, blankets, crib, and bassinet. Wish me luck and keep looking back for pictures of the new baby!!

The apartment

The kitchen is nice and has a dishwasher!!!

The living room is large and we are looking into furniture, which is exciting but also very difficult to find what you like with the price you like.

The second bedroom is the only room that still needs to be put together. It will be the Baby/Bike/Storage room. I'm not too worried about it since the baby will be in our room to start off with. Slowly but surely it will become a organized room.

I'M a SOCIAL WORKER

So today was the big day of my social work licensure exam test. It's a big deal and it cost a lot of money each time you have to take it. With a lot of praying and some studying... I PASSED. I'm now a licensed social worker for the state of Utah.

So my belly is big enough to hold a bowl. I laughed when the bowl didn't fall. It's nice because I can have a free hand to read at the same time.

Blessings and more!

So as most of you know Benjamin and I have been searching for jobs, well while we were looking we decided to go to the temple more often (it's the least we could do). After an amazing temple session on Wednesday we were both offered jobs on Thursday. It is amazing how the Lord blesses you when you are doing what is right!!

The jobs- We are going to be home parents at West Ridge Academy in West Jordon. It's a social work type job. They give us a two bedroom apartment and we can eat at the cafeteria whenever we like, which I have a feeling it wouldn't be that often. We basically live in a dorm with 16 boys (ages anywhere from 9-18) and act like their parents when they are not in school or counseling. The hours are something like 2-10 pm on Mon-Fri and you have Saturday off and then on Sunday we need to be there when the boys go to sleep. It is a great job for me to get my foot into the door of the social work field. It will be really good for having a new baby and for when we decide to go back to school. It's a lot of responsibility but it will be good for us.

The second job- Benjamin interviewed at a Bike shop for a part-time job, we all know how Benjamin is with his bikes!!! Anyway if he does get it it will be perfect with this home parent job because the home parent job is considered full time for both Benjamin and I. Plus it will bring in a little extra money. Benjamin likes to keep good connections in the bike industry too.

More blessings- we went to the doctor, baby and mom are doing great. I'm always amazed at how my body is carrying a little human being. The only down side of this healthy baby is that Daxton's head is huge, it's already 2 weeks ahead, he got it from his mommy and grandpa! The doctor says I'm carrying very low and I just say okay because I know no difference. I'm getting excited that Daxton is coming and that we now have an apartment to move into so that I can nest away and get ready for him to come. It's time to start shopping ( I never thought that I would say that with excitement)!

Things are working out for us as I knew it would, but it can be hard waiting for them to turn out! The Lord will bless you if you do your part!!

32 weeks...

So I'm wearing the same shirt from the last picture, and I'm getting bigger. It's fun to see it grow and feel all the moving. Daxton is an active boy just like his daddy.

Benjamin and I are STILL looking for a job for our growing family. We have had some interviews but nothing has worked yet, but I know that it will!

To the Hagge's- Welcome home Rachael!!! I'm sure you and Ryan are happy that you're back in Rexburg. Also I made that Puff pastry dessert with the strawberries, it was amazing and it made me think of you! Glad your back. We need to come see you guys.

Update

10 weeks to go!!!! Wow, that is very crazy to think about!

Not much has happened: Benjamin and I are still looking for jobs and an apartment. Looking for a career is a lot different then just finding a plain old job.

Benjamin and I have done some fun stuff lately: Went to Peach days in Bringham City, the Utah fair and saw the truck and tracker pull (I died from boredom, but Benjamin enjoyed it), went to Provo and saw Maggie and her new house, going to the UoU museum on Wed, and we have some UoU football games planned with my parents. Both Benjamin and I are excited to see a real college football game!!!

All is well here, beside the job thing.

7 months and Washington trip

On Thursday I will be seven months(28 weeks). It is exciting and scary to know that little Daxton is coming in 12 weeks, Benjamin and I have a lot to do!!! WOW, Daxton loves my bladder as a trampoline, and he is definitely Benjamin's son with how active he is! I love it and can't wait to see who he looks like!!

We had so much fun in Washington, we were able to relax, which was a change of pace for us. We spend some time on the beach with the family, the boys played in the water and yes it was very cold, so they say. Some of us built an awesome sandcastle. It was great to see Benjamin's family and we are excited to go back in Oct. for Rose's wedding, except for the fact that I will be huge at 35 weeks, I'm glad I can still travel at that time because I'm very happy to be there on Rose's big day.

So far, being here in Layton has been fun, it's nice to be by family again. Benjamin and I are currently looking for jobs and an apartment. So wish us luck!!

Goodbye Rexburg

Benjamin and I finally graduated from BYU-Idaho and have moved down to Utah to work and go to more school at the University of Utah. It was weird to leave my home of the past five years but I was happy to move and start the new chapter in our life. We are doing great and will be leaving to go to Washington on Sunday, we are excited to see Benjamin's family and Rose's fiancée, Kyan. 

McReynolds Family Get-away

So on Friday my whole family went to Island park to a cabin we rented and had a great weekend. On Friday we relaxed and played in the water. Benjamin and I were able to rent a canoe and some river tubes, which was so much fun. We stayed up late, made smores, and played games.

On Saturday we headed to Yellowstone. We saw two WOLVES, I think Andrew could have died right there a happy man, it was very exciting!! We also saw the Mammoth terraces which were very pretty and different. 

Then Sunday was a water day, and the boys (Benjamin, Markham, and Andrew) floated the river in the tubes. Sam(Markham's 1st son) loved the water and really enjoyed playing in the mud and throwing rocks in the water. Sam is definitely Markhams' son and loves to be in water. Then we all headed home around 4pm.

 It was a great time and nice to get away, but I think there was a little too much driving for the adults and the grandbabies ;) We had a blast and can't wait until plans for next year come up, what shall we do?

Baby name

I think I understand how to do this. To let you all know we are naming the baby Daxton Harold Sypher, I have a ticker at the bottom of the page(due date is November 27, 2008-Thanksgiving day). Harold is a family middle name for now 5 generations-go traditions!! Let's see how well I do at this. 

Since Benjamin and I are having a baby everyone keeps saying that we need to Blog, so here goes. I'm glad there are things like this so that we can keep in touch with friends and family.
