31 Weeks and counting.....

Yesterday, we had our appointment with Dr. T (OB). She read Dr. A's report from last week and saw that my cervix has not changed from a 2.7 cm that it was 2 weeks prior :) Her physical exam proved the same :) No dialation, no cervix change! She said that per Dr. A's report, both babies are head down for delivery. But, since I still have the very low lying previa's, a C-section is a must. Although I would love to experience natural birth, it would be with only one baby. So many things can happen when you have two and if the second is not delivered quickly behind the first, you may have to do the C-section anyway. And, a C-section is less stress on the babies and that is what is most important to me.....as little stress as possible to get them into the world. They will have enough once they get here!

So, I'm going stong thanks to my cervix. I'm in line with what my Mom and Sister experienced. My Mom did not dialate but to like a 2 max so I was a C section; and, my sister took a long time to dialate and then needed help. In my case, a subborn cervix is what is bring me into the home stretch! Only 6 weeks max to go and I'd like and pray for anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks more :) Hello October!!! :)

Thanks again for all of your wonderful prayers! Please keep them up! Remember, 5 lb babies, over 35 weeks! We can do it! :)

30 Weeks :) :)

Ok, fam and friends....here we are at 30 weeks!




















Hubba and Bubba are gainin' ground on us! Believe it or not, that is over 7 lbs of baby in me now! At our ultrasound appointment yesterday with Dr. A, we found out baby A is at 3 lbs and 8 oz. and baby B is at 3 lbs. and 12 oz.!!!! We could not believe it. I thought Randy's eyes were going to pop out of his head...LOL! I could not be more excited that they are growing well and plumping up....still working on those minimum 5 lb babies!! :) Again, I don't think I'm bigger, I sure don't eat more than I did before I was preg, so eat babies eat...you can have it all :)

Report... my cervix has not changed from 2 weeks ago and still measures 2.7 cm at the least...no opening....no funneling...no dialating :) The previas' are still very low lying being each ~2 cm from the cervix. Dr. A said that the biggest I will dialate (when that time comes) is 4 cm and then I WILL start bleeding heavily. That is because dialating 4 cm would be 2 cm on each side and then the babies sacs are right there where all of their blood flow is.

Dr. A said horray for my cervix....without it, we'd be having issues. But, because it is closed and holding strong, I am getting further with the contractions. However, the only concern is that the contractions could make my water break from either of the babies sacs. IF that were to happen, they'd have to monitor if the babies have enough amniotic fluid and if I would get an infection. So, if my water does break (and my cervix it still shut) and the babies have enough fluid and I do NOT have an infection, they'd let me go until max 34 weeks and then deliver. But, of course if I got an infection or the babies did not have enough fluid, then they'd have to deliver earlier. So, she said if I can get to at least 34 weeks the babies would have to be in the NICU for ~2-3 weeks. I guess she knows what she is talkin about but I have heard many first hand stories and I truly believe it is a case-by-case thing for each baby born on how much time they will spend in the NICU.

So here are pics of the babies from yesterday. Baby A (Randy) has quite a bit of hair-it is a nice lil comb over..lol Randy's Mom said he did not have hair forever after he was born, so....mabe it's my genes kickin in?!??!? :) Baby B (me) had their eyes open lookin around. I swear baby B is me all over....the most active, allert, fiesty little turkey you've ever seen :)
Dr. A still cannot believe we do NOT want to know the sexes, but like we told her, we are just wanting two VERY healty babies to come out of there that have Randy and Jennifer genes that we have been waiting to see for YEARS! That is what is most important to us. How blessed are we to get to be doing this???? VERY! And we are thankful for God's love for us that he is trusting us with TWO beautiful babies to love that HE HIMSELF picked out and hand-made JUST FOR US! AMAZING!!!


Next appointment is this next Wednesday (29th) with Dr. T to physically examing my cervix....I will update you then :)

Twins' Shower

Hi everyone! So sorry it has taken me until today to post about the shower from Saturday. This has been the LONGEST week!

We found out on Monday that my uncle (Dad's brother) past away suddenly and then on Monday eve my mom got deathly sick and had to go to the hospital :( So, needless to say, my family has been all over the place in the last 3 days, going on 4 now. We are all so tired. Please pray for my family :)

THE SHOWER - Saturday was the twin's shower and it was a HIT! It could not have been any better if it tried to :) The hostess' did an EXCELLENT job on everything! A special thanks to Darlene for the cutest cake ever, Kris for the awesome diaper cake, Min for the beautiful flowers and decorations, and Brandi for the yummy dip! The guests were very entertained and enjoyed themselves very much....INCLUDING ME :) I had a blast! It was such a special time for me to be able to share this miraculous event with such wonderful friends and family! I love you all so much for coming and sharing this special time with Randy, Bennie and me! :)

29 weeks...we're gettin there!!!

Today we are 29 weeks! Wahoo!!!

At the appointment with Dr. T (OB) today, my cervix is still unchanged and hangin in there :) YEAH! She told me that if nothing changes...ie. me noticing anything different...and since I am seeing Dr. A next Thursday, she does not have to see me next week. So, I don't have an appointment again with her until the 29th. But she did say that if Dr. A alarms us next week or if I just want to be checked that I can come in anytime :) That was comforting!

So, here is my weekly pic for you with a big twist!

It has been my adulthood dream to take a pic with my Daddy and his HUGE BEER BELLY...trust me nothing but Coors Light is in there! :) I know it sounds funny/crazy but nonetheless true :) And I have to say, now I see what it is like to carry around and sit with this size belly...It's different! The other night I got a bowl of watermelon and Randy asked me to hand him the remote. I found myself taking both hands off the bowl to hand over the remote and the bowl just sat there with no problems! Just like my Dad does every nite with his 1/2 gallon bowl of ice cream!!! OMG

Ok, here is where my Dad's belly is normal compared to mine......like the irony of a baby swing behind each of us?!?!?! LOL







Now, here is where he tried SO hard to push it out by turning his head red and arching his back!



Randy and Momma say that I have him beat. I'm still not satisfied and hope to get one more pic right before the babies are born AT MY MAX! LOL

Appointment Today with Dr. T OB

Well, I met this morning with Dr. T. She did not have the offical documentation from Dr. A but will be getting it today and will review it. I filled her in on the stats from Wednesday about my cervix and all that we were told by Dr. A.

Dr. T is not concerned with a 3 or 2.7 cm cervix reading for that matter at this point of 28 weeks. I told her I was confused b/c she had told me beforehand that 3 or less was not good. She said yes, she did tell me that a month or more ago. At that point a 3 or less would be bad for that stage of my pregnancy. However, me having around a 3 at 28 weeks, with a twin pregnancy is actually good.

To sum it up.... she is not worried about the actual measurement b/c she is the one that gets to examine me and 'feel' the cervix. It is still completely closed, not dialated, not funneling.....it is the same way it has been the entire pregnancy. Therefore, she does not see where the contractions are causing any problems at this point.

Dr. T said there is a fine line on when to give you steriod shots for the babies' lungs or when to put you into the hospital on mag. sulf. She said that your body can get used to the med's and then if/when you really need them...later on in the pregnancy, they are not effective any longer. Therefore, since my cervix is fine at this point, she sees no need to do anything different.

She did, however, run another fetal fibronectin test on me today. #1 for my peace of mind, and #2 to back up her beliefs about me. She said that if it were to be positive, she would then administer the steriod shots and put me on strict bedrest at home at that time....again, my cervix is still unchanged so she does not feel the need to put me in the hospital.

She assured me that she would speak with Dr.A and concur with her on all of the issues/findings. She wants to see me back on Wednesday (9/15) which I'm excited about because that is only 4 full days I will go without being checked again.

Unless I have a dramatic change in something/anything...ie. contractions, symptoms, etc OR my cervix changes at all, then I am good on bedrest at home with limited activities.

The funny and good thing for today was that I gained 7 pounds since last Friday!!!! WHAT?!?!?! They just laughed at me....I did not think it was very funny until Dr. T explained that I would have not noticed it b/c the babies are getting fat on their bodies now and plumping up....I laughed too as long as I believed all of the 7 pounds were going to them! :) I'd love nothing more than to give birth to 2 Michelin men or women...LOL :)

So, looks like I will be here for awhile which is fine with me as long as nothing else changes and I'm still pregnant and they are doing well inside of me :)

Dr. T just assured me to not take everything Dr. A says to heart b/c that is her personality and expertise and she explained that Dr. A does not get to see the whole picture nor examine my cervix first hand.

Oh and by the way, Dr. A told me on Wednesday that my placenta previa is gone!!! I did not mention it b/c I did not want to confuse anyone :( Dr. A said that this was actually bad because the previa was actually protecting the cervix and now there is a window of opportunity for a baby to slip down and my water break. According to Dr. T, that cannot happen if my cervix is completely shut and I'm not dialated at all. She said it just is not in the normal progression of labor.

So, I have to trust her. That is why I picked her....for her expertise in twins. I just keep praying that God works through her for our babies best interest :)

28 Weeks!!

Today we had our appointment with Dr. A for the sonogram. There was nothing to report on the babies, which is wonderful :) Baby A is 2 lbs. 11 oz. and Baby B is 2 lbs. 14 oz. They both are on target for growth and developement at 28 weeks :)

Unfortunately, the news was not so good for me. Last time my cervix measured 3.2 and today it was a 2.7.....so, what this means is that my cervix is shortening and my contractions are being productive in changing my cervix. Dr. A said my cervix is also pliable, which means that it is getting mooshy and giving in. I have NOT dialated though, thank goodness. So, time will only tell when my doc will put me in the hospital to decrease the contractions and get them under control so to keep my cervix from getting critical and keep these babies inside.

Per Dr. A, I am to watch for any changes that are new and to make sure I do not have more than 12 contractions an hour....I still have ~10 per hour :(

I have my appointment with Dr. T this Friday and will see her weekly....VERY HAPPY ABOUT THAT!! So, we will see what she says from Dr. A's report today and from her examination.

I just pray to get to October at minimum! I would HATE to miss the babies shower in two weeks :(

But, at this point it is in our God's hands and we just are in the 'wait and see' mode.

I do trust that he will take care of our beautiful babies :)

Bennie's 1st Day of School

Bennie had his first day yesterday and had a wonderful day! :)
It was a rain-out but everyone managed to stay dry. Here are some pictures from the day...

It's a NEGATIVE.....

Glucose test that is! :) I could not be more shocked! AND HAPPY!
I went this morning to the OB, Dr. T, and got great news all around. We knew my fetal fibronectin test was negative and to hear that I do not have gestational diabetes was a MAJOR PLUS! :) She said she does NOT see any change in my cervix. I did tell her that my contractions are still around 5 every 30 minutes and last 30-45 seconds. But, with the negative tests and no change in the cervix, she is comfortable with it all. She does, however, want me to come weekly to see her for reassurance sakes.....fine by me! :) I'd go everyday if I needed to :)

She did tell me that I am anemic. She said that 99% of all women carrying multiples are anemic by this time. So, big deal! :) All I have to do is take iron supplements :)

So, we have an appointment with the specialist for an ultrasound on Wednesday and then back to the OB on Friday.

Until then....everyone have a safe and fun Labor Day weekend! Especially my Oxy co-workers who work hard!!!!

27 weeks and a NEGATIVE Fetal Fibronectin Test!!!!!

FINALLY! Because of my constant calling, I finally got a verbal from the doc's office (from the lab) that the fetal fibronectin test came back NEGATIVE! :) Again, this means that there is a 95% chance that I will not go into labor in the next 2-3 weeks! THANK YOU JESUS! I really needed this today because of two more full days of steady contractions that last a good 30 to 45 seconds. My belly is so sore :( But I will live! :) I am just SO excited for these results!!!

On Friday, I should get results of my glucose test to see if I have gestational diabetes. On the postivie side, since I have more of a chance of having it due to me carrying twins, I have Randy as a good source and his equipment (glucose tester) at my disposal. So, I hope I don't have to worry about it but if I do, we can manage :)

Ok, lots of my loved ones...ie. family and friends...have requested that I post belly pics weekly since I'm trapped at home and cannot see everyone. So here is my promised pic :)

I have to admit how very PROUD I am on my life-long anticipated belly! I personally think it is beautiful! I can't say the same for what happens below the belly, but we will focus on the positive :)
