Inch Worm

Lucy is 6 months which is crazy to me!  Here are some facts about Lucy

* She is such a smiley baby!
* She is a momma's girl.  When she is tired Mom is the one she prefers
* She loves her sisters!  When she is crying I send the girls over to play with her and she is content and happy.
* She loves to be sung to!
* She loves to be talked to and she loves to talk back
* She loves to be part of the action.  The girls and I play "sea monsters" outside quite often.  Basically you run away from the sea monster and hope she doesn't catch you.  This is one of Lucy's favorite games.  She loves having the sea monster (Eve or Savannah) chase after her as she is in my arms.  Her smile is priceless.
* She has the cutest laugh which I will have to get a video of.
* Lastly since she hates to be out of the action.  A few weeks ago she learned how to "crawl".  Basically she is a cute little inch worm and nothing is safe, but it sure makes her happy to be able to get into things she couldn't get into before.

Germs and Dragons

Eve is obsessed with Lagoon specifically Puff the fire dragon and the red dragon.  All the older cousins got to go on the red dragon ride and Sav, Eve, and Ari had to watch.  Every day Eve tells me that when she gets bigger she will get to go on the red dragon ride.  She draws pictures of the red dragon ride and she even pretends we are riding the red dragon ride.  The other day we sat on the front steps and buckled our seat belts.  Eve checked to make sure they were tight enough and then she went and pushed the button to start our ride.  I have a feeling Ben's wish has come true and at least one of our girls loves Lagoon.  We'll see if the hype of Lagoon stays until we go again in August!

I was making dinner tonight and Sav asked me what we were having.  I proceeded to tell her what we were having and her response was "but I don't like germs."  Any guesses on what we had for dinner?  I'll give you a hint it is a breakfast meal.

The Waiting Game

Being so close to my due date I have learned a few things

1. You cannot just call your family just to talk.  I've realized if I call my family to ask random questions they sound so excited when they answer their phone.  Once they realize you are calling to ask a question and not to tell them that you are going into labor their excitement fades quickly.  I hate being the bearer of bad news and disappointing them.   The solution is I don't call anyone in my family unless it is vitally important.  Thus no one thinks the baby is coming when in reality she is happily playing in my belly.  :)
2. If you aren't with your kids outside and your sister is with them your neighbors also get their hopes up that you have had your baby.  Trish was outside with the girls on Friday and my cute neighbor quickly stepped out of her house to see if I had had my baby.  More disappointed people.  Solution:  Don't have others play with your kids outside without you so your neighbors don't get their hopes up.
3. Husband, aka Ben, is slightly disappointed that you did not have your baby over the weekend.  The weekend would be more convenient for him as he would not have to miss much of work.  Works out better I haven't had her yet as Trisha's husband is out of town so it would make things a tich difficult if I needed her to watch the kids in the middle of the night.  I swear between Trish and Ben they make things quite difficult on when they would like the baby to come. So picky and opinionated :)
4. Lori offered to pick them up from the airport if I wanted to send them on a plane to Boise.  :)  Can you imagine my little munchkins on a plane by themselves.  That just makes me smile.  I can imagine Sav avoiding eye contact with any human being and both of them crying hysterically about how they "lost" mom and dad.  She altered her suggestion to say they could fly with Kram since he had a stop in SLC on Sunday, but I'm not sure that would be much better.  I would have to prep them with AWESOME pictures of Uncle Kram and tell them how fun it would be.  Both scenarios are equally entertaining to me.  To say the least, they won't be going on a plane but it was sweet of Lo to offer to watch them.

Baby still has not come yet, but on the bright side of things I finally got most of the way through my to do list.  Last night I FINALLY packed my hospital bag and I have been able to clean the basics in my house.  I guess I will have to create a new to do list for this week :)

Alligator Rides and Baby Coming

Ever since Ben started his new job, I have been taking the girls with me to my doctor's appointments.  Last week was the first appointment with my new OBGYN.  We took the elevator up to her office and the girls were not impressed.  I think they whined/cried whenever the elevator stopped at the various floors.  After the appointment was over they kept telling me that they did not want to go on the "alligator" ride.  I kept telling them that the elevator ride was fun and they would stress that the "alligator" ride WAS NOT fun.  Thus, we took the stairs down to our car.  This week I was hopeful that they would have forgotten about the elevator ride from last week, but that was not the case.  As soon as we parked the car Eve told me she did not want to go on the "alligator" ride, but wanted to take the stairs.  When we entered the building both Eve and Sav eyed the elevator and bolted straight for the stairs.  I have a feeling we will be taking the stairs from now on  and not the evil "alligator" ride.  (No matter how many times I tell them it is an elevator they proceed to call it an alligator.)

The girls are seriously ready for the baby to come.  Today, Sav got her pretend thermometer and took my temperature.  After taking my temperature, she announced "The Baby is coming!".  She then lifted up my shirt and looked at my belly and stated "The Baby is coming!  She wants to come out!".  I hated to break the news to her that the baby was not coming out right then.  Daddy is pretty firm in the fact that he does not want it born before April and the girls are pretty sure it is coming any day.  We will see who is right.  :) I have a little less than 2 weeks left so we will see who wins this argument.  Eve and Sav have been so patient in waiting for their little sister to come.  Hopefully she will live up to all their expectations!

Swimming

I finally braved taking the girls swimming without Ben.  I've been trying to talk Ben into taking the girls swimming for weeks/months and he has just not been into it, plus we have been super busy.  I was ecstatic/a bit nervous about taking them by myself when Trisha suggested the idea this week.  I figured now was as good of a time as ever so I tagged along as Trish took her 3 kids swimming.

The girls absolutely loved it!  When we first entered the indoor swimming area, Savannah of course had a meltdown because it was LOUD and she was scared.  I ended up carrying her to where Trish and her kids were getting ready and I finally convinced her that it would be fun to go into the pool.    I got their floaties on and we followed Trish and Ari into the kiddie area, while Zach and Halle played in the bigger pool area.

This place was awesome they had small slides for the kids and once I got the girls to try the slide once they thought it was fantastic.  We did have a slight hiccup, when Eve wanted to go down one of the bigger slides in the kiddie area and kind of face planted into the water when she got to the end of the slide.  I don't think she went on another kid slide after that....we'll have to work on that next time.  It kind of scared her.

Savannah on the other hand noticed that they had a BIG yellow slide and she REALLY wanted to go down it.  Trish said that they would let me take her down so I did.  We went all the way up and I went with her down the slide and she thought it was FANTASTIC and wanted to go again.  We reached the top of the slide to go down the second time and the slide attendant/life guard asked me if I was pregnant.  I guess you are not supposed to go down the slide if you are pregnant.  I didn't know that so Sav and I went back down the stairs to see if Aunt Trisha would take Sav down the slide as I was unable to.   Sav was VERY disappointed that we didn't go down the slide again and she didn't understand why Aunt Trisha wouldn't take her immediately.  (I realized after the fact that Sav never went down the BIG yellow slide again, bad mom.  I'll fix that next time, it was just too hectic and Trish had taken enough kiddles down the big yellow slide. ) Trish had been supervising/watching Eve and Ari and keeping her eye out for Zach and Halle, to say the least she had her hands full and needed another pair of eyes.

Later Trish took Eve down the big yellow slide and of course Eve loved it!  I told the girls we would have to come back another time when I wasn't pregnant so I could take them down the slide OR that we would have to convince Daddy to come with us.

Savannah loved playing in the lazy river, which is just a slow current.  Trish even helped them work on their floating skills with their floaties!  They loved floating!  They aren't as dare devilish as Ari, but for them it was a HUGE step to want to float in the water without holding onto someone.  Eve was super mad when we had to leave to head home.  She didn't understand why we couldn't play some more in the water.

When they got home they told Dad all about the big slide and the pool and floating!  Eve asked today if she could go swimming again.  She was disappointed when I told her that Dad had banned me from taking the girls swimming alone until the baby is born.  I told her we would have to go swimming again once the baby is born.  I haven't quite figured out how I am going to do this.  I may still have to convince Ben to go with us or recruit another adult to come.

Ben's insurance with his new job, which is much better and cheaper than our current insurance, does not kick in until April 1st, thus Ben doesn't want me to have the baby before then.  Apparently he thinks taking the girls swimming by myself is not a good idea (even though I wasn't by myself but I was with Trish, I guess that doesn't count 5 kids to 2 adults).  He thinks I shouldn't do anything too strenuous until after April 1st so that I won't go into labor.  We'll see how that theory works but I will try to appease him as it would be nice to not pay as much when we have the baby.  I guess time will tell. :)

Thanks Trish for inviting us!  We'll have to go again.  I'm not sure how long I can hold off the girls!

Tattling on Daddy

We kept the girls home from church yet again on Sunday because they still had runny noses.  Ben went to sacrament/sunday school and then he came home so I could go to Relief Society.

With potty training the girls, we give them motivation for telling us they need to go potty.  If they tell us they need to go potty AND keep their underwear dry they get a Starburst.  I know, it is a SUPER good prize.

When I came back from church Ben told me the following story.  I guess Eve had asked him for a Starburst, while he was helping Savannah, and he informed Eve that she couldn't have one because she didn't tell him that she needed to go potty.  Ben went back to helping Savannah.  The next thing he knew Eve had pulled out her play phone and was calling Mommy.  "Mommy, Dad said No to Starburst".  I thought it was funny that Eve pretended to call me so she could tell me all about the injustice of her not getting a Starburst from Dad.  Silly friend.

Silly Robots

Today after naps, I could hear either Eve or Savannah talking so I figured the girls were awake.  When I walked into their room, Sav proceeded to tell me that Eve had woken her up.  When I asked Eve about it, she told me that she didn't wake up Sav.  I then asked Eve who she was talking to if she wasn't talking to Sav.  She then told me she was talking to robots.  Sav clarified and told me Eve was talking to two robots. 

Eve then proceeded to tell me all about her robots and how there were robots at Grandma and Grandpa's house (Miskin).  In the room they sleep in at Grandma and Grandpa's house there is a stereo system that the girls are convinced is a robot.

Anyways,  I thought it was cute that Eve was talking to her robots.  I only wish she would talk to her robots a little quieter as to not wake Savannah from her nap.  I guess beggars can't be choosers.
