And So It Begins

Exhibit A
The Snow.
Exhibit B
Wrestling. Much to the disappointment of ALL parties, Dad is just not around much to help in this department. I'm really trying to suck it up and embrace it this year. Well, maybe "embracing it" is a stretch. I'm crying quietly to myself. Does that count for anything?

Exhibit C
That white, plastic container would, in fact, be a Throw-Up Collector. Need I say more?

Wrapping Up October Part 4

Last but not least, Halloween. The boys felt pretty gypped that school was cancelled on Friday, and they couldn't have their classroom parties. After all, Halloween is Seth's favorite holiday--tied with Christmas, of course. Come Saturday night all feelings of gyppness (I completely made that word up) were gone as they sorted through their gobs and gobs of candy. Can't you just feel the sugar induced hyperness oozing through the last few pictures? And yes, of all the candy, Abram chose Tootsie Rolls to consume as his first treat. He's nuts.

Wrapping Up October Part 3

The boys (kind of) helped me rake up all our leaves in the front yard. It was just in the nick of time as the next day our first real winter storm of the season hit. There were our 6 bags of leaves nicely lined up in our driveway to be picked up, with about 6 inches of snow on top.

The boys had school cancelled for THREE days. Even Sam got some time off work. I just LOVE snow days. Love them. They're the perfect days for cuddling up with your family, drinking hot chocolate, watching the snow fall and fall and fall, and of course a good book is frosting on the cake. You don't even have to feel too guilty about being lazy because a) you literally can't leave the house even if you wanted to and b) you're not worried about anyone stopping by and catching you in your pj's. I loved being holed up, snug as a bug.

The even greater thing about the weather here, is that after our 23 inches of snow, we hit nearly 60 degrees the next day. The sun was out in all its glory and the melt-down commenced. It just doesn't get better than that! It's the best of both worlds.

Wrapping Up October Part 2

Seth was nominated by his teacher for an award due to his incredible behavior at school. She says that she loves having Seth in class because he is such an example to the other children. He listens carefully, follows directions, helps his friends, and tries hard to go above and beyond what is required. This award was presented to him at a school assembly. Way to go, Seth!

Wrapping Up October Part 1

After California my sister, Becky, came for a visit with her little girl, Eden. I had so much fun hanging out with both of them. Eden is just about the cutest thing ever, and she was so good to put up with all 3 boys constantly mauling her. We had fun going to the park, eating out (always a special treat!), chowing on Cold Stone, watching movies, frosting sugar cookies, celebrating my friend's 30th birthday, playing Wii, and of course just being together. Thanks so much for coming, Beck!! Sister, sister.
