As of today, December 13th, 2021, I have a new granddaughter born on December 8th, #5 by my youngest daughter (ages 7, 6, 4, 3 and now a newborn) and I have 2 from my eldest daughter (15 and 19), but son has no children (he has 2 blood hounds).
On November 11, 2021, son-in-law passed away at age 42 from apparent heart failure perhaps related to substance abuse (my eldest daughter's husband). He was always doing some substance to include alcohol. Daughter and him used to be heroin addicts years ago. I am not sure, but I think my eldest daughter was smoking crack (swears up and down she is not doing anything) but states she has lost all this weight, and my eldest daughter's daughter Little Queenie, who came to live with me and subsequently in foster care due to failure to control her behaviors, is now in a court-appointed drug program here in my neck of the woods. She says her mother and her smoked crack, and I know her mother has been enabling her. Kid has been experimenting with various drugs to include crack, meth, god knows what else. She aged out of foster care last year when she graduated high school, and has been smoking pot like crazy ever since and of course is experimenting with other stuff. Even though she is not a full-blown many years addict at this point to any drug, I am genuinely concerned about her well-being and want her to be off of all drugs due to the imminent death with fentanyl traced drugs, and impulsive behaviors, leaving any time of the night with people she don't really even know and putting herself in dangerous situations. She definitely needs behavioral modification! This bullying and manipulation of others to give her money for drugs is ridiculous and she won't hold a job. I guess she thinks she is entitled at 19 to full service amenities! This will all change with this program. I can't wait to see her off any substances and living her best life!
As an update to this post, its now April 2022, and granddaughter agreed to go to this court appointed program but then absconded, so she is spending a few months in jail. God knows she could be worse when she gets out. :((
