Damn it. I gotz pain.
Okay so I hurt my back over doing nothing but reaching in to fasten a seatbelt for somebody in the backseat.
Really? It took my breath and it has been pain ever since that is just relentless, nothing I do or position I get in helps it.
Sitting in this chair tomorrow trying to work or even to write this blog post is just painful.
This is not the way I wanted my day to end.
I guess its a handful of Motrin, a horizontal position, and a heating pad.
Ugh.
What's your Tuesday word of the day?
here's mine...
if that isn't enough for yuns, click the link to find out what happens when blah blah blah meets up with the 2 bears... wtf?
yeah happy Tuesday.
Post Surgery 5 days out
I had my "Sissy" spayed on Tuesday, April 17th, and its only Saturday, 5 days out, and it looks as if a little section is gaping open a tad bit. Darn cats! they lick themselves anyway, give them a shaved abdomen, and a wound, and they are gonna lick it! Geeze.
The hours following my dropping her off at the vet, "Bubby" the Maine Coon kept looking for her, and later on after picking her up, she was pretty zonked with pain meds, staggered around, and the next day she was very lethargc. She perked up the third day and seems to be doing well, except obviously licking and/or chewing at her abdominal wound. Why couldn't they cover this up or put sutures in that dissolve or something. It may be this gap will have to heal by secondary intention. You know how it is, if you got a sore you just gotta pick it...I do!
I do not see any evidence of infection, it looks to be healing, there are sutures in part of it, and I really hate to put a lampshade on her head, so I am going to watch her a couple more days, and probably have her checked at the vet's office on Monday just to make sure, and/or have them put Steri-Strips on the wound gap which is really small. She was supposed to go back for suture removal 10 to 14 days, but by that time Sissy will have them removed herself! LOL...darn cats! gotta love 'em...
to spay or not to spay...
should that really be a question? I think not unless you are a breeder. It appears that Sissy is now in heat and my "Bubby" avoids her like the plaque...LOL... Bless her heart, she is handling herself like a true lady, no loud meowing or misbehaving just going through the physical animal instincts and just miserable it seems. I called the vet and she has surgery scheduled for Tuesday morning.
I have grown so attached to this little baby cat who came to us in July as the lone survivor of six who was bottle fed at the time the lady found her, so tiny. She has come a long way since then, loves to chase shadows, be brushed, is very curious about water, and follows me around like a puppy. She does not meow at all its more like a purr with a question mark at the end...she is the sweetest cat I have ever seen. Her mother was a full blooded ragdoll said the lady who gave her to us.

here is how tiny she was sitting on the steps the day we got her...(that date is wrong)
and here she is now; I took this tonight.
here's my two girls...Isabella and Sissy (pictures enlarge if you click them)
let's get excited...
in making birthday wishes come true in May. Isabella turns 10 in May and she wants to go to King's Island in Mason, Ohio. Having a few days off gave me the opportunity to explore surrounding places to stay, where to eat, how much this venture was going to cost, that sort of thing, so I have rented a car, booked the motel, and we are heading out of Dodge. We are leisurely exploring King's Island for not one 1 but 2 days; at least 4 to 5 hours after check-in time at the hotel on Friday at 4, a full day Saturday (the WaterPark opens Saturday), and we will spend the night and return home on the 27th, which is her actual birthday, so that will give her mother and other family the opportunity to plan her party festivities as well. It is just going to be me, Bella and my 20 year old. It will be a no-drama adventure, not taking somebody else's kid to worry with, and not taking her 5 year old brother, or her mother. That will ensure a drama-free and stress-free time. This trip is 3 hours away, not too bad.
King's Island...and no, she is not riding the Beast! however she is tall enough. I rode that the year it came out with my son, and it was getting dark just like this picture, nothing like the Beast at dusk. It jerks you around quite a bit and I thought my neck was broken on that first sharp curve. If you need a neck crackin' that's the thing to ride. She manages to be 50 inches in fact and can ride quite a bit of stuff, getting her on it is the thing, and I am taking my 20 year old to help watch and ride with her. They cannot wait, both are excited. Me? ugh not so much but whatever they want is fine. I'll carry the pocketbook and camera...LOL...

Spring Break
well well, its that time of year again. Spring break.
(this picture of Bella and 'sissy' was taken a couple of months ago)
Bella got off for Spring break March 30th so we drove by her mother's after we went out to eat. She was hoping that her mom and her were going to spend time together but her mother was acting very suspicious, not wanting us to even come inside, and upset that we just happen to "show up." Wyatt has a diaper (pull up) on at nearly 6 years old; this is sad, truly sad, that since hubby has come home from the pokey he is now back to probably using, and now daughter shows up with a band-aid on her arm at the elbow depicting a needlestick. All I have heard was that they were 'sick' ... yeah I'd say so.
Even sadder is that she went to court and got temporary custody of Wyatt and is under scrutiny by Social Services. If she screws this up, she will lose him again; Bella's custody remains with me and is not being challenged or questioned. If my suspicion is correct and I am pretty sure it is, my daughter was doing okay (or seemed to be) before her hubby came home but its been messed up for nearly two months now. I fear Wyatt is not being properly cared for here the last few weeks. I enrolled Bella in counseling due to her behaviors over the past few months. This school year has been a difficult one for her, and I am not sure all this trying to merge back to 'family' is such a good thing for her. Her mom has made it clear she prefers Wyatt to her, at least that is how she feels. I just hate the fact that her mother tells her she made plans all week during her Spring Break but has yet to follow through on one thing. She even told me she was going to petition the courts to have me "psyche-evaled" for competency to take care of HER daughter; the daughter she lost due to her bad choices. She has got some damn nerve; if this shit keeps up I will barr any visitation she has, which by law at this point she has none. I am over this drama. Bella has had more issues since her mother has been coming around more, and promising and not following through on what she tells her, and we all know this is detrimental to a child's psyche, especially one who has taken a backseat to her brother and her so-called Dad, and believe me she's acting it out for all its worth, most of her aggression/anger directed at me.
time will tell what these 2 adults are up to; my suspicion is its no good. The honeymoon reunion is over since hubby got home from jail after being in nearly 9 months. She tells me he is depressed and just lays around. In-laws tell me he wants them to finance him a 'small business' of lawn care; they refuse but I am just wondering how long mommy is going to deny her baby. Neither one at this point in time are working to maintain any consistent employment. They think cutting a yard or two of grass is appropriate work to support a family and pay bills, but I would say the in-laws are back taking care of their misfits, enabling do-less to do even less now that he's out of the pokey. What a sad excuse for a man. Even sadder is that his parents make excuses for me, saying he's got anxiety. Anxiety over what? is my question. So far Bella has had a decent Spring break without any visitation with her parents and I know myself the less she sees of them, the better she acts. She's off tonight to spend the night with a friend who spent the night with her last night. Peace and quiet. ah.h....I think I will have a glass of wine and reflect on life. Life is good, oh yes it is, you just have to pick your dramas.
