A Few Giggles for a Monday ...

Boy, it sure feels like Monday. I feel like something the cat dragged in and the dog wouldn't eat! I am already tired, but hey there's a holiday this week, right? My little grandson who turns 2 was born Fourth of July so we have a birthday to celebrate! I remember it was storming and raining so bad the day he was born. My other granddaughter who just turned six was born on Memorial Day 2002. I had to laugh when she told me her biggest fear of first grade was learning to write in cursive!!  Speaking of which my friend told me they don't even teach it anymore, as it is not a mandatory curriculum requirement.  Unbelievable.

 REGULAR ... OR PREMIUM?

When the family car developed a slight knock, the wife asked her husband if he had bought regular or premium gas, but he couldn’t remember.

“You probably got the cheaper gas,” she said. “That could account for the engine running so rough.”

“No, the gas wasn’t cheaper!” he replied indignantly.

“Well, how much did it cost?” asked the wife.

“It cost the same as always,” said the husband. “I bought the usual ten dollars worth.”

PRAYER POSITIONS

Three preachers sat discussing the best positions for prayer, while a telephone repairman worked nearby.

“Kneeling is definitely best,” claimed one.

“No,” another contended. “I get the best results standing with my hands outstretched to Heaven.”

“You’re both wrong,” the third insisted. “The most effective prayer position is lying prostrate, face down on the floor.”

The repairman could contain himself no longer. “Hey, fellas,” he interrupted, “the best prayin’ I ever did was hangin’ upside down from a telephone pole.”

okay, okay, one more ...

THE BIG CITY ADVENTURES OF COWBOY JOE

Cowboy Joe was telling his fellow cowboys back on the ranch about his first visit to a big-city church.

“When I got there, they had me park my old truck in the corral,” Joe began.

“You mean the parking lot,” interrupted Charlie, a more worldly fellow.

“I walked up the trail to the door,” Joe continued.

“The sidewalk to the door,” Charlie corrected him.

“Inside the door, I was met by this dude,” Joe went on.

“That would be the usher,” Charlie explained.

“Well, the usher led me down the chute,” Joe said.

“You mean the aisle,” Charlie said.

“Then, he led me to a stall and told me to sit there,” Joe continued.

“Pew,” Charlie retorted.

“Yeah,” recalled Joe. “That’s what that pretty lady said when I sat down beside her.”

and that's a laff rap! bada-boom~~~!

it's Monday ... I'm slaving!

I am rather disgusted at Blogstream and therefore am contemplating closing down my remaining blog there. I am hereby thinking of making this blog for invited readers only too just coz I can, nanaboo-boo!  I went back in Saturday night to perhaps just connect with people doing the Saturday Night Blog Fever, but even that was not enjoyable due to the bull which tried to suck me in and therefore resulted in my responding to comments taken off my blog.  I used to think that people enjoyed doing the Saturday Night thing and connecting with one another, catching up as blog friends, but I am not so sure anymore.  Saturday Night Blog Fever I guess gave some people the opportunity also for motives less desirable than just posting music and having a little fun and interaction.

Frankly, I do not care to feud with people over there, nor will I. It is like I said to someone...sometimes blogging possibly reflects the state of one's personal affairs going on in their private lives whether it be anger, hurt, or any other emotional lability including a propensity to stir up trouble. If you come over here, bring respect with you, and leave Blogstream drama out of it. Those of you who were my blog friends there will still continue to hear from me.  I did state that I would close this blog and make it by invited readers only, and I still may do that.  As of this time, I have not decided what to do about the Saturday Night Blog Fever.

Big Thanks to all those supporters and blog friends at Blogstream.

UPDATE:   Well, I did close my blog down over there only to reopen it due to not realizing how much  it might affect others who really enjoyed it.  However, the other reason was because "la vida es bella" which was the original name of this blog was murdered by me accidentally when trying to upload a template~! I tried everything I could to fix the darn thing, but to no avail.   So, what's a nerdy girl to do? Why of course, start another blog and export all my old posts which I successfully did!  I decided to keep Bella's Gotta Brand New Blog original open at Blogstream, screw anybody who don't like it~! and maybe the good ones twice!! ha!

Did You Guys Know?

Blogger now has a new dashboard where you can put the comments underneath your blog posts instead of taking you to a different window and provides backlinks too, and other options! Check it out! and the new and improved link thing which desperately needed revamping.  It's great!

All you have to do is type in "Blogger in draft" and read about it! I'm sure you guys will love it! I do, but then again, this came a little late to my knowledge after I downloaded in my own comment section before this came out! LOL

Sherry, thanks for the Boney videos, they were relaxing, and for the chat, and to all of you Blogstreamers who came out or stopped bye! Scratch? Where were you? I found no lizards in the lounge! LOL

Dalpha, love ya, and you too, Tab!

I hope you guys have a great day! I've got housecleaning to get done.

I'll check back in later.

If you guy haven't watched the latest New Yorker RingTales on MSN.  Here's the link!

Afternoon Already?

How time flies when you're alone and uninterrupted! I love it!

I went to bed way too early last night. I put up a music post on another blog site only to find out there was a "dram-o-rama" over there as usual! I swear I believe some people will do anything for a little blog reader attention! While I spend the majority of time with work and lately taking care of my grandkids, blogging is not a big priority. I have a couple of shared blogs here on blogger, and even though it is a little more challenging to navigate and to have a sense of "community" I love having my anonymity and being able to pick and choose people I want to be a part of my blogging experience!

I guess wherever there are so-called community group blogging sites, like Blogstream, there are bound to be issues from time to time. It is like having real neighbors, some you get along with, most you just do not know, but if you want to network with your neighbors, or other bloggers of mutual interest whether it be humor, or music, story-telling, or what, and you have to go borrow a cup of sugar if you will! There are some really creative and talented writers at Blogstream, and the good definitely outweighs the bad! so I'll blog in both at whichever time suits my needs at the moment since I do have shared blogs over here.

I do not think I am going to spend time with the blog-front issues today, as far as trying to fix that search bar. I have already had to figure out after clicking the "embed comments below post" that there was no comment link to click on to make comments! LOL so that was one mystery solved and fixed! This template was a downloaded template, not the usual blogger one to choose from, which retained some of those elements even when I switched back to the regular templates they offered! This created quite a bit of headache for me yesterday! In any event, people can leave comments if they choose now, just Say It~! This new comment section underneath the blog posts are a must! Love it! Try it, you will too.

Okay, housecleaning here I come! One of these days when my ship comes in, I am going to hire a maid! and a butler!

Gee, this trying to manipulate blog codes

is getting on my last nerve! pee on it! damnit!

I had an error on this blog, had new2 widgets I could not get rid of, and the comment thing would not load up! what a pain in the ass! I had to upload this template multiple times after trying to fix the problem, only to get "this is not well parsed bull." Most of the day, I had my two hooty-wild grandkids making major messes, but my daughter and son-in-law finally showed up to claim their kids about 1 p.m. today, after 2 weeks?! yeah, my thoughts eggsactly!

I've been feeling pissed on myself, as you can imagine, and having additional stressors, but now I am free at last, at least for the moment, so I could try to get these bugs worked out. I like working on this stuff, but it would make it easier to not have to guess and work by trial and error.

and what are you up to?

Well, I fixed one thing only to find out that my search bar thingy over there is screwed up when it comes to "search my site", I am sure it is so stupid simple but I am making it harder.

Les Chats!

Les chats!

OOPS! Chat has been taken down.

Mamaw Bear is Grouchy...LOL

Photobucket

The week of madness if over! Not one I care to repeat either! The kids parents are on their way home and I'm relieved to say the least! My babysitting days are over as of tonight. I told them I didn't want to see or talk to them for at least a week or two! and I was not taking phone calls unless they just happened to drive by and see the house was on fire and needed to alert me to THAT!.

Yep, I'll be taking down names and serving up cocktails later !

Come on over later and talk to me.

I have no idea where I found this picture, but I thought it was funny. Looks like Papa Bear is overworked, just like Mamaw Bear here...and for God's sakes, mow the darn grass!

I'm just bent and sad ...

The free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wings
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with fearful trill
of the things unknown
but longed for still
and is tune is heard
on the distant hill for the caged bird
sings of freedom

The free bird thinks of another breeze
an the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

hey ya'll ... as you can see I peeled down a few posts, but I had to for me. More than being livid, beyond angry and back, now I'm bent, hurt and worried sick, and it was just downright painful to get a call from a correctional facility seven hours away and hear her choked up over hearing her six-year-old on this end crying to talk to her. Lines are being drawn in the sand "that is not HIS choice of drug" and more than anything I am afraid at this point. I'm afraid that a mother who loves her babies and whom I believed to be drug-free, got caught with pot that hubby stuck in her purse, in a county with a reputation for "dealing with druggies" and she might not get to come home and see her babies for a while, dependent upon a legal system seven hours away.

A Psychic Detour ...

Sometimes things happen that are so dejavu in a way that's downright scary. Ever be thinking about something only to have it happen? or dream it the night before and see it unfold the next day? or just get that feeling you were there before, or had that particular conversation in that particular scenario? I remember one time in high school having a dream about some girl who walked into class made up like a clown, and I thought how strange, but the next day it happened! no kidding, it was a pep rally at school that day.

I tell you it is a little unnerving to say the least. As I had posted on another blog, there are times in this house in which I am visited by someone. I can't see them, but I feel them, and often I smell their cigarette smoke and even heard snoring, an exhale rhythmic breathing. I even had somebody wake me up from a sleep by raking their hand down my neck to my shoulder. There was nobody there when I opened my startled eyes. I do believe there are things that happen which one cannot explain. I never considered myself psychic but I am a good feeler. My teenager told me she thought I could read minds or something to that effect, cause one time we were on the phone, and I said ... did you enjoy the mashed potatoes and meatloaf? without even realizing that was what she had for dinner and I had no way of really knowing this; which really surprised both of us! I just laughed and said lucky guess, ha! and took the opportunity to tell her that yeah, and I would know if she were trying to pull a fast one, too! LOL

Speaking of strange ESP kinda moments, today at 4:48 I was online, leaving comments here and there at Blogstream, listening to music, and I went to check out my boyfriend's bike blog and leave him a message, telling him I was thinking about him, yada yada, and where was he? how was meeting the group of bikers? and all that stuff. I hadn't even gotten up from the chair when the phone rang with his number on the caller ID, and I about jumped out of my skin! I am always amazed at how in tune we are with what each other is feeling, it's very strange, even at a distance of 3,750 and some odd miles! I asked him if he felt me or what? because I had just left him a message on his site, which he has been unable to access due to a connectivity issue.

Coincidence? This has happened more times than not, this telepathic thing, surprising both of us. Well, if it had only happened this once I could say yes, but this has happened a lot. I just hope his bike trip is everything he hopes it to be and there are no complications or mishaps. Tonight, they are camping at a church, so he's probably getting ready to sack out and sleep, as he has a long day of biking tomorrow.

A Saturday Bargain...

In the neighborhood in which I live, there are nice homes converted to rental units. This area is one of the most well maintained areas of this little town. I love the neighborhood and it is close to a city park just a block away. Perhaps one of the reasons why this neighborhood says so nice is because rental property here is top notch and rent comes at a high price for most places here. It does keep the riff-raff out! The beauty for me is that on resale this place will bring the cash should I ever sell it just because of its nice location. It does need a little TLC money put into it, but I'm no handyman, nor do I have extra finances to get some projects done. I am one of the rare people on this block, if not the only one, who actually owns and lives in their house!

While being ordered by my granddaughter to cook her some oatmeal I opened the backdoor to the deck, and caught a glimpse of a yard sale on the concrete patio at this rental apt. house next door. I love a good yard sale or flea market, never know what you will find, and cheap!

So.....what to my wondering eyes should appear?

but hedge trimmers! which I absolutely need!!!!!

I saw a lady there who had a pair of hedge trimmers that she laid down, now whether or not she actually was going to buy them or she was helping my neighbor with his yard sale, I figured I would mosey on over and say hey, and eye those trimmers up close and personal!

This neighbor about a month or so ago, lost his wife unexpectedly when he came home and found her dead. I recall the ambulance and all the lights, and the ruckus but at the time I didn't know what really happened. I was hoping that there was not a crime committed, which come to find out there wasn't. The most we get around here are car break-ins, pretty petty stuff, and occasionally a peeping Tom! or like the guy who banged on my door one night at a little after 11 I think it was telling me to let him in!!!!! Yeah, right! that was kinda scary, and in the four years I've lived here that never happened, let's hope it doesn't again!

So as I walk out back, around the corner to the yard sale, after getting her oatmeal fixed and settling her down to eat it, and I start talking to the neighbor and come to find out, that lady was not helping, she was there to buy! and buy she did, taking my hedge trimmers with her! Oh the heartbreak! I asked she if indeed she really wanted those, cause I had some hedges out front that needed immediate attention! but I couldn't pry them away from her! She said she'd trim them for me for a price! ha! She looked to be 70 and not in that great a health. Oh well...I stuck around a few more minutes conversing, and after a few minutes left came home empty-handed.

Somebody rings my doorbell shortly thereafter and it is my neighbor, he was working and just got home, and I guess his brother-in-law and his wife had mentioned I was over and wanting some hedge trimmers. Come to find out, he had another pair and also tree branch cutters which he sold me for 2 bucks each! what a sweet deal! and yes, they cut too! they also have expandable handles to reach higher places! now, I guess I have no excuse NOT to cut those hedges!

Hope everybody is having a great Saturday!

My Wayward Biker

Probably as the sun comes up over the horizon, my “lifestyle cyclist” aka undercover lover will start his 3,800 mile trek from the west coast back to the east. He flew out Thursday morning, and is supposed to start tomorrow. He was so looking forward to this trip away.

Cycling of course is the perfect combination of transportation, environmental stewardship, and good health isn't it? and considering the price of fuel more of us are going to be forced into it! bad knees or not!

While he is in excellent physical health, he does have one knee that acts up, and hopefully that will not become a major issue for him on this journey. I half expected him to call before now, but I have heard nothing...nada...I know I am not at the top of his call list considering...and I try not to worry as he is traveling with a group of other bikers.

He is blogging his journey on a biker site and put a ready to go picture wearing his 'Across the US' bike jersey he designed and had made especially for this trip. His male girlfriend "J" said he looked like a cross between Captain America and Willie Nelson! too funny that J ~! and in fact he is right, but he shaved that full beard off and back to the goatee which totally suits him.

my friend, Susie-Q ...

It's Friday night, I feel like shit.

It used to be I lived for the weekend! I would "doll myself up," put my heels and dress on, grab a girlfriend or a guy friend, and take off to the local hangout to have a couple of drinks and sit with the "bar crowd."

but I haven't seen those days in a while. *insert debbie-downer wahwahwah here* Tonight, my shoulders hurt, my neck muscles are one big frickin' spasm! I feel like I've been beat with a baseball bat, no kidding. I wished this bite of pain pill would just take over and send me into mindless oblivion. I think if I had a "doobie" even I would smoke it. A dope head I am not, but I have been known to inhale. After all, I was married to a supplier! and I didn't even know it really. He always had pot and pills.

As a matter of fact when I met him he was an alcoholic, geeze, it seems odd to write about it now. I didn't know he was really an alcoholic either but that didn't matter as long as my needs were met, or so I thought. After a while, reality creeps in, but wow! what a sexual revolution! and I did find out that I was married to the crappiest lover ever! but who knew until they got divorced, right?

Okay, so what was I writing when I got mindlessly sidetracked? ah yes, about my friend, Susie-Q. I just got off the phone with her. She was ranting and raving about Tom, her supposed boyfriend of six years or longer, who in her eyes does nothing to help her out, because it is always about him, him, him. He just doesn't get it she says. He has plenty of cash, doesn't owe anybody anything, but Susie scrapes by barely and has a grown daughter with autism. He complains about her daughter, which he has never done anything for, and that he never sees her, but he hasn't come to Susie's house in forever, yet calls her everyday? Strange relationship those two. However, Susie is trying to maintain a yard which is too much for her, and Tom won't come and cut it or pay anybody to cut it for her. Cheap bastard!

Speaking of yards, mine was getting pretty tall waiting on the gardener who finally called the night before last to chat, and said he would be by to cut the yard which he did yesterday and took Little Queenie out to eat, without me! He is a nice guy I'll have to say, who cuts my yard for absolutely nothing, just because he's a friend. Now I ask you, wouldn't you if you were a guy help out your significant other around her house? or even if you had a friend who needed to be helped out wouldn't you offer? If I'm in a relationship and the guy doesn't do for me what I think he should, his ass is grass and history!

Susie hates me deep down. Ours is a love-bitch relationship. She doesn't understand how I luck into such good friends who do things for me. Even my second ex kept my car running and even did my yard after we divorced until he got sick. Susie doesn't have family here either, and it really irks me that Tom won't do the things he should. She has done nothing but be too good to this man, and this is her reward! Yep, I told her she was too good to him for too long, and now she needed to strap her dick on and ride his ass!

that's enough ramblin' from the road.

"I'm So T-u-r-d..."

I am so tired I could sleep for a week. Speaking of which my little granddaughter (better known as Little Queenie), who just turned six, is staying with me this week as her father and mother (my daughter), who lived seven hours away, have gone back to their residence to pack things in order to move back up here to aggravate us, their family. While I am thrilled to have my grandchildren a little closer, I am not thrilled about having "those two" back.

In order to provide a little background for anybody who may be tuning in late to this saga, you would have to read the archives, All Hail ~ Queen Blogship (see link for the oldest post March 5, 2007) to find out the background on these two! Speaking of background checks, they now have a criminal background too! How do people write checks knowing they won't have the funds to cover them? Unbelievable if it happens more than once or twice, but that wasn't the case; there were at least a dozen of them! Checks they have written in the last 12 to 16 months which have long bounced and are now finding their way via the Sheriff for paybacks! I found out that my daughter was thrown in jail twice over these checks in the past month! And isn't that a kick, that karma?! You can't fuck over people for at least two years or more and then expect it won't come back to slap you on the ass! One should expect a little fallout, shouldn't they?

These two "parents, better formerly known as Griszelda Mess and Lord Spoiled" have been a source of stress for all of us. I just got off the phone with mother-in-law of who informs me that they haven't gotten a truck yet, but are supposed to get one tomorrow, and perhaps by Saturday they might be back up here. I want my house back and be able to take a nap when I want! I've earned that, and it's my life!

till next time.

A Department of Highways employee stopped at a farm and talked with an old farmer.

He told the farmer, 'I need to inspect your farm for a possible new road.'

The old farmer said, 'Okay, but don't go in that field.'

The Highways employee said, 'I have the authority of the State of Minnesota to go where I want. See this card? I am allowed to go wherever I wish on farm land.'

So the old farmer went about his chores. Later, he heard loud screams and saw the Department of Highways employee running for the fence and close behind was the farmer's prize bull. The bull was madder than a nest full of hornets and the bull was gaining on the employee at every step.

The old farmer called out, "Show him your card, smartass!"

oh my, now here's one beggar's way of making sure he gets funds for his next liquid meal...

Is there no shame? LOL ... on second thought that might work for a couple of people I know who are in desperate need of funds due to laziness!

June is half over, my how time flies ...

Well my son in law lost his job, not surprising, considering the immaturity level here. Not only did they run up the phone bill with a phone entrusted in his care from work, which was not supposed to be used as their ONLY phone source, but the laptop given to him was torn up. My daughter said something about the kids tearing it up, but ultimately the responsibility for work equipment falls only to their shoulders. I can't believe their mentality.

Since he lost his job, his mommy has supported them financially. She is moving them back to this area. Great. I am not that excited to have them back up here; this is where all the drugs are and they will be back on the wagon unfortunately. They both look good, and aren't acting like dope heads anymore, but time will tell. Their children certainly deserve parents they can count on. Right now his mom has the baby, and I have their oldest taking care of them while they supposedly are down there gathering up their stuff and obtaining a truck to move their things back seven hours.

What's new with me? Work today was a hard day, I'm tired and going to bed. David will leave to go on his cross country bike ride in two days. More on that later.

Goodnight, Gracie.

Monday's bump & grind ...

This weekend has been trying at times, just family issues cropping up. There's nothing that can't be worked out. I just have to keep reminding myself of whose problem it truly is! LOL

If I had my way today, my bump and grind wouldn't be on the keyboard! I'd chart off to Long Island to help baby pack for his cross country bike trip in just a few short days, spending some quality time with him, which obviously won't happen till he returns back to me.

Work was exhausting feeling every stroke of my fingers on the keyboard for a whopping 130,833 characters! I'm exhausted, and after work I had to pick up my granddaughter from daycare; she's here making messes, creating havoc, but I loves her! Her mommy and daddy are moving back to this area for the time being. Long story, little patience to tell it. Let's just say ... for today, I am going to try to be grateful for my relatives, and maybe tomorrow and the next day.

Depends. Speaking of which we will be wearing again if we live long enough! Can you imagine once graduating from diaperhood, only to regress back to it?

Yes, be grateful for all of your screwed up family and if you already wear a diaper, so what?! Nobody cares about that stuff. Try to cherish the moments you are given and never pass up the chance to raise a little hell! and love a lot. Sometimes as I work, I listen to stories of people, sad stories which change my otherwise self-centered day. Today, I was typing a report of a 40ish year old female who was applying for disability. She really did not have enough physical anomalies to qualify for disability but psychologically she was fighting her battles. She had lost her own grandson just last year, and two months ago lost her son and her husband the same day in an electrical accident. The son was being electrocuted and his father tried desperately to save him, but his life was taken too; they both burned to death in front of her shocked eyes.

Life is short, make it memorable ya'll. Well, I've got to give my Isabella a bath and wash her hair! Much love to yuns.

Unbelievable Blowjob~!

how's this Tab?

It really cracks me up some of these bloggers who are faking these personal dramas, and perhaps even using their so-called family members to do it.  What could possibly be the motivation behind doing something like that? Obviously if some of you never saw the older posts or knew a little history here, you wouldn't recognize it as being a blowjob!

Yes! We all know who you are and what you did last summer but reruns get old! Good grief! Do these games ever get old to you people? I think there should definitely be an award given to The Drama Queen(s) of Blogstream! Would anyone like to nominate someone for this prestigious award?

No names are needed - everyone knows who they are... Just keep track of the hospital visits - the surgeries - the "fits" - the wheelchairs - the heart attacks - ...

I could go on and on and on and on ...but they already do that! EMOTICON:COOL2]] As you and I and most who have been here over 2 years know -

Good Lord girlfriend - Even God is praying for them to "Cease the drama crap" - Ok...May be not God - but the rest of us

I always seem to miss all the drama, real or supposed, on here.... I'm always too busy trying to concoct something more random and weird than the ole beaver speedo or blood cannon.

Oh, well... I saw the word "blow job" and like Pavlov's dawgs, I came a runnin'.

Lookin', I hear ya, and there are more fake blogs than anybody can shake a stick at! it's crazy and then they add them to their list of blog followers to make themselves look important I reckon! it's laughable! Every once in a while they get "caught" in their psycho personality when they trip up and leave a comment!!

Reminds me of that movie, "The 7 faces of Eve" and some of these icons with the evil eyes, that just about says it all, doesn't it?

I see Katie deactivated. Did she leave a forwarding blog? Perhaps she got run off! LOL but I don't see anybody jumping on THAT bandwagon and posting a please come back, Auntie Em ... I wish her the best of luck over the rainbow! I just wished she had taken some of her cronies with her!

say it like it is, by golly.

When I write serial fiction stories, I always do an outline. That way I know where I left my characters and what they were doing at the time. It's pretty sloppy work to do what I saw. Always when you're writing something, there needs to be a point where it makes sense. I mean you can't have someone...oh...say...institutionalized in one chapter and then in the next one have some wild party going on where someone drugs that person badly enough to OD.

Duh, Doh or whatever other phrase comes to mind.

Sloppy, sloppy workmanship. From someone who is supposed to be so much smarter than the rest of us...Sheesh!

Uh-oh! And I've posted TWO---count 'em, TWO(!) drama-type posts lately! I'm hoping something funny will come my way to post about! I've caught myself writing a post on Notepad and thought: "This is entirely too depressing to post." When I do that I delete the danged thing. Like I saw in a movie once, "Come down off the cross, someone else needs the wood."
