Yucko!!!!!

The other day, we noticed that our bathroom sing was starting to back up when we would run the water.  So, we dumped some drain-o down the sink and that did nothing.  Because we live in such an old house with old pipes, we run into this problem a lot, so we pulled out the big guns: a product that clears the pipes with a huge burst of air pressure.  I stood by nick's side as he covered the drain with the container and WHAMO!!!!!!  

You know the hole near the top of the sink that prevents you from overfilling the sink?  Yeah, we didn't think to cover that when we sent a shock-wave of air through the pipes.  Our bad, heh heh.

California Trip installment 2: Cool Animal Pics

San Diego Zoo was really cool.  We had a blast personifying every animal we saw (if you don't know what personify means, look it up - ha ha, I have a college degree:)) [wait! now that just looks like a smiley face with a double chin. Oh, well]  Enjoy the pictures!

Yes, I took these, I swear I didn't just get them off the internet.

Man, the cheetah is such a majestic animal.  This cheetah's best friend is a short, over-fed dog who is there to keep the cheetah calm in case it gets stressed in certain situations.  Pretty interesting.

Whoops!  How did this get in there, heh heh.

I had a lot of fun singing certain songs to different animals.  These were the mere cats listening intently as I sang to them 'Hakunah Matata' from The Lion King!  Other credits included 'The Gods love Nubia' from Aida to the Nubian Gazelles, 'God bless America' to the bald eagles, 'Shadowland' from The Lion King to the lionesses, and a random Phil Collins song to the bears because I couldn't think of a song from Brother Bear.  (which is true, I didn't know any of the songs from brother bear so I think I sang a Tarzan song)

I just can't help but smile... and sometimes laugh... out loud

To get to our house, we turn at a very busy corner that has turned out to be very entertaining.  Why?  You ask.  Because we get our very own dancing boys.  I'm sure you've seen someone with their job before.  You know, the people that get paid to stand on the sidewalk and hold a sign.  But these boys go way above and beyond.  The first was a kid that held a T-Mobile sign while listening to his iPod and totally rockin' out.  He could do these incredible tricks with his arrow-shaped sign that would just leave me mesmerized.  Which is so not good when I'm trying to turn left off a busy road.  After a while, he disappeared, but then turned up in a better area with even more car traffic.  I assume that was a promotion.  Now on the same corner, we have a Little Caesar's Pizza sign holder who's sign is in the shape of an electric guitar.  This kid has long hair and an iPod and goes to town.  So why blog about this?  I just wanted to say thank you dancing boys for making me smile, and for inspiring me by being the best at what you do!

California Trip installment 1: Silly Pics from Cali

Nick and I just got back from California where we chaperoned the Northridge High School Choir trip.  We hit Disneyland, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and the Beach.  We took so manny pictures that I think they will be most effectively viewed in sections.  Section 1: Silly Pics from Cali: (P.S My brother and sister-in-law also came and chaperoned so those are the weirdos you see with us) 

No, we did not pee on ourselves.  We had just gotten off of the Atlantis ride at Sea World.  It gets you wet.  Paul and Nick were sitting in the front and got a wave so big that it washed over them and landed on Sandy's and my lap!

Shortly after taking this picture, we were chased down by zoo keepers thinking that we really were elephants that had escaped the enclosure.  We are that good.

Apparently, Nick and I are the fraidy cats of the family.  (in line for Indiana Jones ride)
