It has been so long since I have written anything. I've been really struggling and thought it would be a great time to start writing again. I'm hoping it will help me just by writing what I am going through.
Last year we sold our Bothell home of 15 years and moved to Arizona. I have always really wanted to move, since I have lived in Bothell my whole life. There is a Boeing in Mesa, Arizona and my hope was that Brian would get a job there. I figured since he has been with the Boeing Company for 15 years, that he would not have a problem getting a job.
Emma and I moved down really quickly. Brian drove us down on June 7, 2025. We packed our little SUV with our things. The house we bought was not finished yet, so we moved into a rental casita with an older couple, Dennis and Sheryl. It was the best place to stay. They live in a 55 and older community. We felt safe. And we loved staying with them. Emma started at Top Gun AZ for cheer and Queen Creek Junior High for school. I got a job at Schnepf Elementary school as an instructional assistant. Everything was great!
We moved into our new house August 8, 2025. Then the boys moved down here also. Brian stayed in Bothell and moved into my mom's downstairs space. His job in Everett did not want him to go. They asked if he could stay until December. That turned into can you stay until March. Of course he said yes. Then they asked him to stay through June. He said he really needed to start looking for a new job within the company.
Evan joined the Air Force and left December 16. It was so hard for me. I was nervous. Worried. And really just wanted the best for him. I think he was nervous to go as well. We went to his boot camp graduation February 4 and 5, 2026 in San Antonio. It was an amazing experience. We were just so proud of him.
Ethan joined the Navy and left July 13. I was definitely sad that he left as well, but not as sad as when Evan left. I think because Ethan was SO ready to go and I kind knew what to expect. He worked out so hard before he left. I felt like he was well prepared and ready to go.
Brian had a job interview in Mesa at Boeing that sounded so promising. He flew down for the first interview and it went great. Then he flew down for the second one and did not get the job. I was devastated. With both boys gone, we decided Emma and I would go back up to Seattle with Brian. It was too hard for me to be apart.
Brian interviewed for another job with Boeing as a traveling recovery leader. And got it! The great thing about this job is that he can be based out of Arizona and Emma and I can travel with him if we want. We stayed in Seattle for 5 weeks before he started his new role, and then we drove back down to Arizona.
So currently, Ethan is in Chicago at Boot Camp. Evan is in San Angelo at Tech School. Brian, Emma and I are in Arizona. Brian does leave tomorrow for Mexico. His first traveling role. He will be there for a week and then goes to Florida for a week. Ethan's boot camp is in Chicago, so Brian will be traveling for the next little bit constantly. After Chicago, he goes to Florida again where he will stay until the recovery is done.
I've just had a lot of anxiety. I am such a planner and I have a horrible habit of imagining the worse. Like the absolute worse. So I'm really trying to change my mindset to think positively and that the worse case scenario is not happening.
I am going to try to write every single day! How I am feeling, what is going on and see if writing emotions out can help me to better control my emotions.
