On a happier note...

Due to the stress that an irresponsible person had caused I suffered from a terrible migraine attack that kept me in bed the next day. When I was better, I refused to sit and sulk... I will never be able to win this battle and will not want to waste my energy on such things.

So I dusted off the dust from my sewing machine and sewed some.

Dinner... was a little fun-looking.

I bought these cute serving plates to make the princesses meals more insteresting.

And these are the satisfied looking princesses after the meal.

Mini Pouchies

I have made these two mini pounches which for the sake of cuteness, I call them mini pouchies.

Mini Sweetie Pouchie

They measures approximately 5.5" by 5''.

Inner lining is green (somewhat like the Detol kind of green... lightish green).

Has a ribbon strap at one side which is long enough to allow yoor wrist to slip in.

I can put my Nokia N95 in it and a packet of tissue too.

These pouchies are for sale but I do not know how much to price them at.

Tentatively, I am thinking in the range of S$5 to S$7.

Would you like to suggest a price for it?

Buckwheat Wrists Rest

Two posts in one day?

That is because Aver is in childcare and Ash has been brought out by her paternal grandmother. And I already miss her... I wonder why my mother-in-law never asked me along? I guess in her eyes I am not a good enough mother to my children or a good enough wife to her son...

Anyway, since I am at home alone and feeling depress, I need to work on something. So, I sewn.

I did mentioned somewhere in the past that I had lots of organic buckwheat ... since Superpig had been asking for a wrists rest. I made one ... sorry ...FIVE of them!

Why so many? That is because I want to use up the scrap fabric from the curtains I made yesterday and I am feeling generous (despite fighting the abovementioned depressing thoughts).

So if you want any of it just leave a comment here. Four friends will be picked out at the end of this week. Don't worry about your distance ... I am feeling generous.

Two Noren Curtains and some rubber stamps

It's the school holiday for a week here so I can stay at home with Ash. Ash knows how to entertain herself so I can do my own stuffs. Aver, on the other hand, goes to childcare as usual.

So, I sew and I surfed the web for more inspiration.

We had always wanted curtains at our doorway so that we can open our doors without having to feel shy about the mess inside. We had went to Ikea in the past two weekends and we bought two fabulous fabric from the curtain section and the curtain rod.

Yesterday, I sew the curtains... both of it. I put the first one up and the other went into the storeroom before I took any photos of it. So here is the first one...

As I blog hopped, I got even more inspired by the crafts made by others out there. I had always love rubber stamps and had wanted to try making my own (ha... this sound rather familiar. According to Superpig, I like to try every crafts out there.) This time my inspiration came from Xue-originals. She made beautiful rubber stamps.

At first, I did not have the intention of making my own as that would mean I need to go look for the craving knives and the wood blocks... cost cost cost... At the moment, I am biting my fingers, trying very hard not to buy need craft supplies. But, I chanced upon another blog (which I have lost the link...) which featured some Japanese craft books which involve making your own rubber stamps using erasers.

And TAH....DAH.....

I used those flag erasers (which does not erase pencil marks well...), a pencil (to draw the design...) and a pen knife (to try to carve..). It worked! These may be very simple and amateur but I like the simplicity and these are images that I like. I like the little girl as it resembles my two girls.

Crochet and Sewn

From an ugly transponder to a lovely item to hang on my neck whilst I am at work.

So if anyone is interested in beautifying your transponder drop me an email.

Oh... I am very proud of it because I designed it myself and it is my first very own pattern.

Next is a blouse I had sewn for myself.

After sewing for my princesses and also other non-wearable items, I finally embarked on a blouse for myself.

I like the blouse a lot and the instruction is rather easy to follow.

I believe there will be more blouses for myself in future.

Something new for the Christmas to adorn our hands...

More sewing going around here...

One of the nights, I was sitting in front of my laptop doing my usual bloghopping and this particular conversation took place between Superpig and myself.

Superpig: What are you doing?

Me: Blog hopping... (sounding kinda bored... and it is not due to the blogs I was reading. They are filled with interesting things and ideas.)

Superpig: You look bored.

Me: Am I? (Looking kind of wide eyes.)

Superig: Yup... you look bored.

Me (after pondering on what he said...): Yeah... you are right. I am bored. But I am reading all these interesting blogs, why should I be bored?

Superpig (shrugged his shoulders): Do you know that you cannot be bored? Once you are bored, you will start to sink (meaning sinking into the dark dark area...)?

Me: Is it? Is that how it has been? But I do have quite a bit of work to be done... but those are work and I now I don't want to work. I want to do something fun... You are right, I am bored.

Superpig: Well, you should start another project then before you sink too far.

There ... he said it ... to start another project and so I started to look for some inspiration in the wonder world of the net.

And I am totally grateful to him for pointing out what can trigger my bout of depression. So now I am more aware.

So an update on the what I had sewn can be found in WENCRAFTING.

Crafting update

I did mention in the previous post about me going back to work and thank you for the kind encouragements. I hope I can get into the swing of things fast.

For the crafting front, I did these...

And I tried it on Ash, Aver and even my mum!

We are married for 9 years...

Yup... despite the fact that I may be feeling downcast...

07 June 1999, we registered our marriage and officially became husband and wife.

That is us on that day... (ooohhhh.... see how thin I was...reminder to self: GET YOUR BUTTS WORKING!)

And this is us now... (reminder to self: BETTER GET YOUR BUTTS WORKING...SERIOUSLY!!!)

What happened to the washboard tummy and defined jawline???

Anyway, we did not do anything serious to celebrate this day but it is still a good day. Well, it definitely is better than when I was posted the previous post.

You see ... after the post and talking over the phone with Superpig (which I know is not a very good thing as it will affect his work), he decided that I should get out of the house. We did ... he came home and bought us out for dinner and a little shopping at Spotlight last night.

Dinner was great because I stuffed myself full with salmon sashimi ... yummy ... (Superpig actually wanted to give me another round tonight as our anniversary celebration dinner but I decided that it is okay not to have it... there will be another chance.)

We were suppose to do a little shopping (retail therapy... more like clothes suitable for work) but the shops were closing after dinner. Still, I had a little retail therapy at Spotlight and bought a few zippers.

Came home and we were greeted by this cute sight at the backseat when we reach the carpark...

After settling them down for the night, I asked Superpig whether I should start sewing something, anything, just to make myself feel better. He encouraged me to do it. I did at 1130 pm and ended at 0130 am.

And I added my personal, my own, unique fabric tag...
I feel so good after crafting.

Today, we bought more zippers for more projects... I definitely am going to make myself feel better.

I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me... thanks for the encouragement and prayers, friends.

A prototype... Bucky Bunny

I had lots of buckwheat husks... don't ask me why just something that I thought will work out but did not.
So I decided to make a cute pillow case for my buckwheat pillow.
And this was the outcome... ARHHHHHHHHH ... it does not look anywhere near cute.


So I need to re-design again.
If it fails (which I really have no confidence of it turning out a success), I will forget about it altogether.

I am glad for the encouragements given by those who have read the inital post of Bucky Bunny. My brain was in full gear since last night trying to think of a better looking Bucky Bunny and the brain is kid of fried when I posted earlier.

Then I read through the text at the sidebar and this jumped out:

Why should I feel like a failure when I am a conqueror in all things through Christ (Romans 8:37)?

Yeah... why should I give up? What if I fail tonight... well, I just try again. And knowing with kind encouragements from all, I will eventually succeed in making a CUTE Bucky Bunny.

Crafting busy...

Well, I missed a post for yesterday as I was busy.
Busy trying to adapt to the change.
Busy trying to visualise how to sew a ballet bag for Ash.
And I did...

Here is Aver modeling it for me... and seems like she also likes it.

I need to get another bag sewn for Ash for her Akkido class and then I will be setting to work on the blog giveaway gifts...

Reversible Embroidery Bibs

Finally, amidst the hurting, screaming, crying and all, I managed to finish my therapuetic "healing" craft project. Although it may not reduce the hurt, it does help to channel my thoughts away from those unhappy things.

I would like to move on and also to eventually forgive those who cause all these hurt. As for now, I just want to be as far away from them as possible until I have the ability to face them again.

So here are the completed bibs ... please let me know what you think of them.

Need a little cheer

Things have not been going very well for this week.Our lives have been turned upside down. Hence, the blog has been quite quiet.

I will not go into details of the unpleasant as I want to keep things cheery and since no matter how much is to be said the unhappiness had been caused, the hurt has been done so now I want to pick up the pieces and move on with my family.



To heal a wounded crafter, the best is to start on another project.

So I did...





There was also Aver starting to draw. I finally made the attempt to cut out the butcher paper and to bring out the crayons for her. She had been attacking my pen and pencil that were lying around, so I guess its time for some pencil time.



As she sat and "drew" away, I drew too.

Rosettes and embroidery barrettes

Since the first batch of barrettes, I have been waiting for an another opportunity to start another round. I decided to make use of ribbon embroidery and stitch embroidery this time rather than buttons.

I must say it is harder, especially for my fingers. I am not satisfied with the outcome this time as they look wonky. Never mind... there will be a better batch the next time.

A new shrug for Aver

If you had been following this blog, you will know that Aver is suffering from eczema and her rashes came and go for 9 months already.
Despite the antibiotics and steriod creams, the rashes do come back and it gets infected.
When it is itching, she scratches them and it worsens the condition.
Recently the infected rash at her elbow was clearly up but she scratched it real bad.
It worsened yet again.
So we had to find a solution to prevent her from getting at it again.
At night, she wears her long sleeved pj to sleep and that helps as she cannot scratch the rash directly.
In the day, wearing long sleeved blouses is not an option unless we do not mind the increase electrical bill due to 24 air conditioning.
So I made a shrug for her.

Here she is showing you how happy she is wearing it.

And this is her answering my question of who is the pretty girl.

It is cool enough to wear over a singlet and if the weather is warm, we can easily pull it of.

My Crafting Till Now

I thought I should do a list of all the crafty things that I had done since years ago.

I started with cross stitches but have been neglecting it.
I had tried some Precious Moments designs but I have no idea where they went.
And for those projects that I had completed, I did not frame them up as there was no place for them to be hung up.
These were done some seven to ten years ago.

Then I tried my hands on sewing and started with quilting.
I made a blanket for Aver and then I planned another for Ash.
Although all the blocks had been cut I have yet to sew them yet.
It has been coming to a year.

I moved on to appliques... I did a few bibs for Aver and a few more for friends' babies last Christmas.

After that I started to learn to sew for my two little girls.

I think I did sew a few more but I just do not have any photos to show...

Mental note to myself...take more photos!

Next I tried to sew a blouse for myself but it did not work out.

So there is definitely no photos to show at all.

Then there is the halter top I sewed for Pam.

There are other bits and pieces of things I have done.

Hair clips... or barrettes.

I am starting on another batch and this time I used ribbon embroidery and thread embroidery as designs.

There were also grocery bags.

Tissue cozies...

Diaper bags

There are crocheting too.

And of course, there is the digital scrapbooking.

There... I have lsited down those that I have done in the past few years.

I have a lot of craft supplies sitting in my storeroom waiting for me to turn them into something nice.
