Kingston's Party

Sometimes Kingston's birthday just floats into summer and we don't always have a friend party, but this year he had two friends come over, Alex and Sutter.

They started with an Escape Room, which they didn't make it out of (they say they were seconds from solving it), dinner at Sonic, blizzards from Dairy Queen, late night Jurassic World movie at the theater with icees and popcorn, then home to play video games until all hours of the night!  They didn't wake up till 12:30 the next day!

July Birthday Celebrations

 July 24-

Got all the July b-day kids together and had dinner and fun at the pool at the River Club.  The guys did a golf simulator and the kids played in the pool, even better, Lindsay, mom, and I enjoyed an adults only pool!  At the end of the night Uncle Joel got in with the kids and threw them up in the air and played.  It was a fun night!

McCall 10

 July 18-20

We had great temperatures this weekend.  Went on a bike ride to Bear Basin with Cam on Saturday and Julienna and Joan made cookies.  Kingston did a great job keeping up, seeing as he was the only one without an e-bike, but he is working on getting into shape for football season.  Then we enjoyed a lake side dinner at Shore Lodge!  Kids were thoroughly impressed with all the extras at the hotel and couldn't get over the fancy paper towels in the bathroom!!!

Starlight Theater

 July 16-17

We just had the absolute best time in Garden Valley!  We got my mom tickets for Shrek the musical and I talked the kids into coming along.  They were unsure about a play, but we sure won them over.  Mom got us a room at the Three Bears Inn and we got the Bear's Den theme (I've never known there to be so many bear nick knacks, from the lamps to the toilet paper holder, and even the tic tac toe game, it was great!)

We went off a recommendation and had dinner at the Dirty Shame Saloon where Kingston had the top 3 best pizza in his life!  Julienna couldn't get over all the cheese!

Then it was time for the play.  We had great seats and a great night!  They did a fabulous job with the performance and the kids had sooooo many treats.  At the end we got to meet all the characters!

We didn't get back to our bear room till 11:30. We played a few games of cards and then had to turn in.  The next morning mom and I went on a walk and saw a deer with 2 fawns.  We had a late breakfast at Wild Bills  where Kingston had a salmon benedict and Julienna had the best bagel and smoothie ever!!  We played in the river and did a little shopping before heading home.  That was the worst part, we got stuck in road construction and it added over an hour to our trip home! Still, it was a super successful trip and we are all looking forward to doing it again next year!

Kingston's birthday weekend in McCall

 July 11-13

Kids had  a fun week with Jonathan and managed to not drive him too crazy!  I got there just in time to celebrate. Kingston woke up to cookies, decorations, and of course presents.  This time I had to be the gracious Sequence loser.  We had his favorite dinner, salmon, and were lucky to have Grandpa Dan and Amy join us!  We played games and had a great day!

Sunday, I went for another bike ride on the rail trail and then everyone came home with me and we got settled back in for the week!
