Thanksgiving

November 25-

This was our 2nd year hosting and I think that we are getting pretty good at it! I was a lot more comfortable with the turkey this year and now have a designated 'brining bucket'. Jonathan was in charge of the turkey and put it in before he went to bed and it was done around 9:00 the next morning.

That left my oven open for other things...wild rice casserole and pumpkin pie. My mom and dad came over with popcorn cake, cranberries, sweet potatoes, and sweet potato rolls and of course a centerpiece (what are moms for, if not to fill in the stuff that you forget!). Lindsay and Joel brought the green bean casserole and mashed potatoes. I also had stuffing and gravy. It was definitely more than enough food and everything was delicious! It was fun to all be together.

After dinner we played a few rounds of Pitch. My mom, dad, and I won!!! Cam stopped by on his way from McCall to say hi and have a bite of turkey. Then we played an intense game of Trivial Pursuit. We had lots of fun and of course, mom, dad, and I won again!

Shuffleboard Table

November 20-21

We made a quick trip up to McCall to drop off a load of stuff. Lucky for us, Brian stayed there the night before and did all the laundry!

We got up there Saturday afternoon and got right to work unloading the trailer. We had mattresses, a toilet, comforters, garbage cans, a cabinet, and the prized shuffleboard table. Jonathan had seen it at Costco and by the time we made it there to purchase it....it was gone. Good thing he is persistent, because they found one in Pocatello and had it shipped over.

It was cold and there was snow on the ground, but the cabin heated up and we got everything done. It was dark by the time we got everything unloaded and loaded and unloaded again (we were switching some things out at Joan and Cam's place, too).

We started by putting together a media cabinet for the red room. There wasn't much to assemble, but it looks really great in the room.

Then we got to put together the shuffleboard table, although getting the 380 lb. box through the door was quite the project. Needless to say, I tired as hard as I could! But, my area of expertise is in reading the directions. We got the table put together quickly and correctly! Leveling it was hard because there were 4 levelers on each side. But, eventually we got it and I'm really glad we did. I forgot how much fun shuffleboard is. I beat Jonathan, but then he smoked me in pool.

Sunday wasn't quite as fun....I cleaned and Jonathan installed a toilet. It was hard to leave and come back to Eagle. We have so much fun up there....even though it seems like we are always working!

Jonathan's B-day 2

November 7-

We celebrated Jonathan's birthday over at my mom's house. We had a delicious dinner complete with red-hot salad (Jonathan is really getting used to the mid-west traditions)!!
And of course, what is a birthday without an icecream cake! It was so good and we got to take home the leftovers.

We played a few rounds of pitch before we all went home.

Dog Walk

November 2-
It was a beautiful fall day so Jonathan decided we needed to walk the boyz somewhere where we could enjoy it. We drove down Dry Creek Road and found a path into the foothills. We couldn't have gotten there soon enough because Chief was driving us crazy with his constant whining.
We went on a 2 mile loop and it was fun to watch the boyz run around. They don't get to go on walks off leash much so they definitely had a blast exploring and smelling.
They were exhausted by the time we got home and slept the entire evening. We even had a pleasant ride home with Chief!

Halloween Night

October 31st-
We went over to Joan and Cam's place to trick-or-treat with the kids. Rob and Monica had some friends join us with their 2 cute girls. It's fun to see all the kids dressed up. My favorite costume was a kid dressed like a toilet...it was very creative!

Brylee was a super cute Princess Lolipop and her friend, Tamsine, was Cleopatra while her sister was a garden gnome.

The girls had fun ringing the doorbell and filling their baskets with candy.

Cam, Joan, and grandma stayed home to pass out candy.

We all got a turn holding Zayden while we were out trick-or-treating. He got the hang of holding out his basket at each door.
