Carlsbad in March

These photos are a couple weeks old now, but at the end of March I visited the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, California.

Psychedelic Western Rose

The title sums it up. This is what I've been channeling. I've been reading Larry McMurtry's Sin Killer. Tasmin Berrybender is just such a spirited little fuck. I want a buffalo. And to run through prairies and stand still as stone in deserts. I stopped shaving my armpits. These photos were inspired by Fashionbater's boudoir shoot.

I bought all new sheets.

Part Four: Teepee Lyfe

Road trips are awesome because sometimes you see things like this and have to randomly pull over and shoot. Photos by M.

And then we hit the ol' dusty trail back to San Diego.

What an amazing trip it was. I can't wait to hit the road again.

Part Three: Blackbird in White Sands

When he wasn't playing around with the infrared camera or the polaroid (he's into experimental photography, ooh la la), I was able to twist his arm to shoot me. Here's the photos by M.

Twin Furs

By the time you read this, I'll be far, far away, trekking across the desert with this handsome fella, taking photos at White Sands, New Mexico and being naked, desert nomads and staying in seedy motels with outdated southwestern decor. Only because I couldn't locate a teepee.

Y'know. Just living the dream.

I'm 5'9" and wearing platform heels. Just to give you an idea of the size of this man.

I made him this necklace for his birthday. It's a basic friendship bracelet weave, in alternating "shades of black" around suede leather cord with an animal jawbone and tiny, raw black diamonds wrapped in sterling wire. I think he liked it.

Jeans and a Tee Shirt

The daily. The staples. The what I throw on when the blogosphere's back is turned.

The only pair of jeans I ever spent more than $40 on. I got them years ago at a boutique in Germany and they are so soft and worn-in and baggy now. Quite possibly, my favorite pair of jeans. I guess they'd now be considered boyfriend fit. The tee is from F21, but has since gotten a few small holes, some accidental bleach splatter and soft and drapey from sleeping in it so many nights. And cowboy boots? Well, I am from Texas, y'know.

My gobs of friendship necklaces are coming along quite nicely, if I may say so myself. Can you see the choker? On a tiny white thread is a star carved from bone and a real wishbone. My old roomie and I got matching stars together at the last Renaissance festival and the bone was given to me by a friend some years ago.

This last picture pretty much sums up my last few weeks. Fun things, good music, dancing and being crafty but I can't shake the blues. Or in this case, the purples. But I did shoot with a new photographer today, so hopefully I'll have some cool new stuff to show you soon. Beware, nudity is involved.
