smitten

the kids are smitten.
these poor puppies don’t get any time to themselves.
every time i turn around, one of them is being lugged around by one of the kids.
mindy is a permanent fixture in emma’s arms.
ray totes around whichever one he can get his hands on.
nolan likes to watch the puppies wrestle and bite each other.
savannah is constantly entertaining them in the the bathroom (where their kennel is)
or in the backyard.
elli is in love and is doing gross eskimo kisses with them and encouraging them to lick her

and i am just loving watching my kids adore these animals.
and loving watching these animals adore my children.

ray has even learned how to be the perfect parent:
he has learned the art of multi-tasking,
the art of holding a baby (or puppy) in his arms while still doing the necessary daily tasks,

like playing plants vs. zombies

which, in his world, is completely necessary
since it’s torturous for him to hear those cute puppies whining in their kennels

however, he has yet to master the art of smiling for a family picture201008 058

  1. I love the shot of Ray doing the one-armed hold with the puppy's head and front legs barely poking through.
