This past weekend I ran my first marathon in Spokane. I don't know if I would say it was fun but it was great to finish. We finished in 4 hr. 22 min. I was pretty happy. I'm pretty convinced our bodies were not created to run 26 miles but I know people do it all the time and I'm just in awe of those individuals.

This picture is of an old friend of mine, Tera Stoner. She used to live in Lewiston and we would run together in the summers with a few other friends. She also completed the race (her 4th...and she has 5 kids!!). She's amazing!

This is my friend and running partner, Mandi Timothy. She could of finished the race a lot sooner than myself but she ran with me the whole way. I kept telling her to go on ahead but she just stayed with me. A great runner and if it wasn't for her training with me there is no way I would have done this!

My only injuries from the race. A few blisters. These are the biggest ones I've ever had so I had to take a picture. I know my feet are pretty gross but I was proud of my 'war wounds.' They didn't pop so I was fine.

Jena was in the production "The Adventures of Madeline" with her dance company this past weekend. She was a penguin and of course she was the cutest one. Main Street Dance is where she takes her classes and they do such a good job every Christmas and spring.

Thought I should update a little bit. This spring has found us (just like everyone else) busy!!! Nothing too exciting, just busy. Jena is finishing her school year and will turn 7 soon. Jackson keeps us all on our toes although he didn't take much to soccer this spring (as the pictures show). And Avery keeps growing and climbing. Jeff continues to work and enjoyed all his Turkey Hunting opportunities this spring. I always say I'm going to do a better job at updating our blog more. I'll say it again, but as we all know...Life calls!!

Ok, my daughter and a friend decided to sell cookies and juice to raise money for Haiti. I was a little surprised at first but thought it was a good opportunity to teach why we give to those in need. They were awesome! They raised $60!!! Who makes $60 dollars at a lemonade stand. So proud of her. Anyway, a news guy came by from our little local news station and did a little story on them. By Greg Meyer Watch the video LEWISTON - Monday was known as a Day On, Not a Day Off for volunteers all over the country.

In Lewiston, two little volunteers were helping their schools raise money for earthquake victims in Haiti.

"We're selling stuff and giving the money to Haiti because of the earthquake they had," said cookie-seller Jena. "Both of our schools are going to get money for Haiti."

Jena, a first grader at Webster and Lilly, who's in kindergarten at McSorley, were spending their holiday at their Tang and cookie stand.

Students around the Valley are helping raise money for the relief effort and these two were encouraged by the response they got.

"We got four people at one time," said Jena. "One person, he took four cookies, two crackers and one Tang."

These kids were not only keeping track of inventory; they were also following good sanitation practices by keeping the cookies covered.

"We don't need one for the crackers because they're wrapped" said Jena. "They're wrapped in something."

No word on how much the pair raised Monday.
