Cute Happenings

I wish I had a picture of this, but I didn't have the camera and Dexter stopped doing it immediately. The other day Dexter went upstairs to his room and shut his door, Ali and I were still downstairs. A little while later we realized that we hadn't heard anything from him in a while (usually a bad sign). So I went upstairs to talk check on him. When I opened the door, I found that he had turned on the radio (we let him do it all the time), and was laying on the floor with one knee up and the other leg crossed across it flipping through The Diary of Anne Franke. As innocent as could be, he smiled at me and went back to his book.

I Love to See the Temple

A few nights ago, Dexter wanted to go to the temple. He kept saying, "Go temple. Shoes on. K." So I looked at Ashton, he finished what he was doing, and off we went to the temple. We stopped at Zesto's and got some ice cream cones, ate them at the park next to the Mormon Trail Center, then walked across the street to the temple. Dexter was pretty cute. He would point up to Angel Moroni, wave, and say, "hi temple! Hi ayngie mononi! Hi!". It was pretty sweet. We let him walk around a little, then we went up to the cemetery behind the temple and he walked around some more, this time gathering sticks. On our way to the car, Dexter was holding my hand and suddenly stopped, turned around, and waved bye-bye to "angie mononi" and blew him a kiss. My heart melted. Thanks little man, for a wonderful family night. We all enjoyed it.

As we drove home, we spotted some deer. Ashton found the country road that they were next to and drove till we found them again. They were so pretty. Small for what you Idahoans know as deer, but large for out here. (They were bigger than a dog, at least). We also saw some wild turkeys and lots of other birds. It was a perfect evening. Just perfect.

"Bay" Ball Game

Oh my sweet little Dexter loves sports. Anything to do with a ball, he is there, playing, watching, he loves it! The title is how he says Baseball game.---cute, I know. :)

Well during finals week, Ashton took a little break from studying and treated Dex and I to a night out on the town. We went to the alumni baseball game complete with dinner and a bus ride to the stadium. It was pretty fun. Dexter got a balloon puppy that partially popped on the grass and then got lost at the stadium. I didn't even get a picture of it with him before the afore mentioned catastrophes happened. Bummer.

We had a fun time. We went in our Creighton shirts, ate yummy chicken sandwiches, enjoyed some company by the Stewarts (some pharmacy friends. He just graduated and they moved a few days after the game to Flagstaff, AZ where he got a job). Then we caught a bus ride over, which I think was Dexter's favorite part. He got a seat all to himself and the windows were really low, so he could see perfectly well outside. He loved it! Then we sat and watched the Blue Jays play in the new AmeriTrade Park Stadium. It is the shmanciest stadium I've ever been in. It was also one of the hottest days of the year thus far. 96 degrees F! Yes, I typed it correctly, no there isn't a problem with your eye site. It was that hot---in MAY! A few days later though it was back down into the 60's. Crazy weather.

Well, we didn't make it through the whole game. The buses back started at 8:30pm or the top of the 7th inning, which ever came first. I think it was the 4th inning by 8:30pm and we had a stir crazy, up past bed time little boy, so we left.

It was so nice just to get out and do a fun outing as a family.
