I Watched With Glee As Your Kings And Queens Fought For 10 Decades For The Gods They Made

I feel the need to have a tiny baby rant over the whole explosion in popularity of Vampires and with that the attendant bullshit comments about Goth.

First of all, hasn't Emo run its fucking course yet? Does anyone still give two shits if Jared Leto sings? Really? Can we get a break already from these pasty little things with hair that looks like it was cut by a drunk midget with a Weed Whacker?

I know, I know, my sad ass will be in a theater 1 week from tonight at Midnight to see the premiere of New Moon aka Twinkles The Vamp. I KNOW. Damn. But now it has just gotten out of control. True Blood...yeah I know the books are popular, never liked them much myself but I am going to try the show again.

But now we have this crap like The Vampires Diaries which appears to be The OC with Fangs. Just shoot me now. I prefer the good old days when the media though Manson was Goth and we were the root of all evil and the source of school shootings. In the 80's they pretty much ignored us :P

I love Bones. Midget Wrestling. Love it. And Fringe was awesome. Walter is awesome. I want a Walter.

Had my job eval. It was the usual. After, what, nearly 8 years in the same position there is really only so much variation we can get. I did get the Green Light to go ahead and move the Group delivery method to Electronic. Which means by Aug of next year I hope to be DONE with paper =) I am a Treehugger!!!

Seriously though, it will make me happy happy. I should go crash now since I have been SWORN to haul my butt to the doctors tomorrow for my labs. Got my Man/Bird/Pig H1N1 shot yesterday but I had to swear to be there tomorrow and fast. I spaced and took my damn meds yesterday. Oops. Plus I am scared Vinny and Desert will find me and kick my ass :P

Oh yay...the weather geek just said we get to add Cold Rain to tomorrows forcast of heavy cloud cover. Like the way they spin "Hey the weather is gonna suck ass!" into something less obvious?

Is it May yet?

Somebody Check My Brain

It's Wednesday night, which means So You Think You Can Dance and Glee. It also feels like it should be Friday night. Or Thursday. And I am actually working Overtime this weekend for the first time in ages.

Back to School night was actually not bad. As I expected Kidlet and her friend were semi-there. They showed up during her Leadership class and kind of tailed her dad and I for the remainder of the trip. In between helping lost parents. Including her own :P

You know what sounds really really good? Molten Chocolate Cake. Know what I have to eat for dessert? Sugar free Popsicles. I feel cheated.

Oh guess what?! There is a sneak preview of Whip It this Saturday and Kidlet and I are gonna go. Yay! After I work for 8 hours of course.

OMG. Just figured out I will be out until nearly midnight Friday due to the whole Chaperon thing.

What does one wear to chaperon? Pearls, an A Line and an apron?

Added Kings of Leon - Notion and Alice In Chains - Check My Brain to the New Music list. I wanted to hate AIC. Cause Layne was, well, fucking amazing. This song? Fucking rocks. I suppose after naming my blog for lyrics from The Widow Cobain it was all over for me anyhow :P

I Don't Feel Tardy

Well Christmas dinner was nice. Ham and Cheesey Gratin potatoes and YUMMY carrot cake (a personal favorite) and Kidlet got me The Big Lebowski for my present. The Dude Abides. I LOVE that movie. Easily in my top 10 of all times. My favorite Coen Bro movie as well.

We also got our dates for Hawaii. YAYAYAYYAAYAYAYYAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

June 24th-July 8th. Spending two nights in Honolulu so we can check out Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor then the rest of the time in Kauai. So happy.

Working loooong hours this week in an attempt to catch some cash cause last week was a total wash for about 10 hours paid time. Yay.

That be it for now. Look for my special dedication to all the party animals of both sexes tomorrow. For now I give you Van Halen. NOT HAGAR.

Hey Hey I'm In Love With A Working Girl

So. Made it to work. Yay we can eat the next two weeks! Got a ride in with my dad's boss when he came to pick up Dad. Co Worker is going to drive me home. There was not really enough snow on the road to make chains ok. More snow is on the way though so I will be driving in tomorrow.

Kidlet has no school again. I am betting they cancel tomorrow as well. That means they will extend the school year though. Bleh.

Made a big pot of Carrot Leek cheddar soup last night. Finished it with cream and sherry rather than beer. It is super yum. Watched National Treasure 2 as well. Loves Nic Cage. Mr. Coppola to his family :P

Just a quickie as y'all know I am swamped at work and 2 days off did little to help with that. Came across this video yesterday. This was one of my favorites from the 80s! Tomorrow I will put up my Thursday Thirteen containing 13 (well I cheat a tad) of my favorite songs from 2008.

Twiddle My Thumbs Just For A Bit

MEGA HUGE YAWN.

It's 5:45 in the bloody AM here so I am allowed. Kidlet was horrified when I told her I was getting in this early. I had to remind her that we have to be in downtown Portland at 6 am next Saturday and Sunday! Trying to pack in as much time as I can cause Kidlet and I have a beach trip upcoming. And this weekend while dining on Nachos and watching The Bucket List (which was amusing, btw. But then when isn't Jack a fuckin hoot?) the parentals used the H word.

Hawaii. This time it would be Kauai. Our cousin owns a lovely house there and let's the family use it when they are not there or renting it out. Mom was there in May/June. Apparently it's be a small very funky art town where chickens and pot bellied pigs roam the streets. That is SO me.

Mom is scoping out places to live. Hope she picks Hawaii. Hell I'd be happy if they sold their place and we sold mine and we ALL moved there. It is the only place I'd move other than to the South. The pot bellied pigs are a big selling point.

My cousin Steph was up yesterday dropping off a party basket for her new at home business. They are room scenters that use highly scented wax that is melted by a low watt bulb rather than flame. I am setting it up at work to see if I can sell some stuff for her. I gotta say they smell dee-vine. She brought me a Sangria one and it is yummy. So we can see if I can put my skills to use for her.

Thoughts on being single. This came up this weekend due to a recent Matt Man post and from the convo with my cousin. Supposedly good relationships require compromise. In my experience she (or he) who does the compromising takes it up the ass unlubed. I don't want to compromise. I don't even want to compromise on the small things. I did that for 30 years and I am staying in a state I loathe for the betterment of my kid. After that I am gonna try selfish for a bit. So for me the only relationship that sounds appealing is one that is completely casual.

Twice married is enough for me and I can not deal with the concept of cohabitation. The idea that someone else was breathing under my roof while I was trying to read or play cards would make me batty :P

Oh goodie, Greg is going to preview the new Oasis album. I so love my radio station =)

Take Back The City Tonight

Yawn. Yeah I know all I do is bitch about being tired. Cause I am. Yesterday I left the house at 6:15 and got home at 7:30. STILL have this f'in cold courtesy of missy Kidlet. She *kinda* got it on Monday. We stayed home and I made her drink tons of tea and juice and take sudafed. By the next day she was on the Volleyball court with her warpaint on. Me? Today makes day 8! I swear to god colds did not last this long when I smoked. I created such a hostile environment the germs bailed. Now? They summer in me. Such fun.

So tonight we getta watch the Tundra Twat aka Sarah Palin in action. Should be interesting. Hold on folks cause I am going to get political. Any MOTHER who would knowingly subject her knocked up 16 year old daughter to the vicious wit of late night TV, bloggers, Perez Hilton and TMZ just so she could take a job she is COMPLETELY NOT QUALIFIED for is a disgusting excuse for a human. If she was a democrat I'd be disgusted. You just do not throw your kids to the slaughter to feed your ego needs. Not cool.

Plus she is a book banner. Right there I can't stand her. Makes me want to club her with To Kill A Mockingbird whilst cramming pages from Catcher In The Rye down her throat.

And of course the fact that she is a complete and total moron. Tina Fey would be a better vice president. So go Joe.

I am ready to move to a different country. Republics don't last, folks. Never have and anyone who thinks that for whatever reason the USA of immune to the political tides is lying to themselves. America is wonderful in concept, shit in action. Much like unions.

Now don't y'all feel totally enlightened?

Oatmeal. Breakfast ya know.

Snow Patrol has a new album out soon and I am SO loving their new single Take Back The City.

You Dress In Pink And Blue Just Like A Child

5:45 am. At work. Coffee in hand, cold in head. The fruit of my loins appears to have become a petri dish. All her friends have this nasty virus that starts out like pink eye (that was tues and wed) then turns to a sore throat (yesterday and today) and finally makes one's head a snot factory. Oh Joy.

Here until 6:15 as well. Yes a 12 hour day. Going to go get my hands blessed by our resident nun Sister Maggie. It's Mission week here at work where we celebrate our mission statement. We're a non profit insurance company, y'all. Can you sing Koom By Ya with me? Actually the one thing I am really going to miss about Oregon when I move is this company. It's a really great place to work.

Yesterday was our Mission awards where the entire company gets together and recognizes people who live the mission, aka volunteer and practice green. It's pretty cool, we had a slide show to begin with featuring all the charities and organizations we support. I got One, Kiva and Cascade AIDS project up on the slideshow. Anonymously, kthx. No pictures of me. Damn...I forgot Relay for Life!

Anyhow a fellow charity auction member was won of 4 recipients this year, and she really deserved it. So it was nice. Today our wee nun (she really *is* short) will be doing a blessing of the hands. Sort of an individual prayer for each of us and the works our hands do. It's a nice tradition.

I booked our beach trip rooms for November. My friend H, Kidlet and myself are all going to Yachats to the Overleaf Lodge again in November. We went in together and got a Sunset Suite. It has two bedrooms, the jacuzzi in the corner window looking right at the ocean and an in room kitchenette. Saves on dining out cost. Two nights. We are going to bring movies, head to Newport on Monday for a massage and some browsing of shops and eat a bunch of crab. Should be good.

This weekend is girl weekend. Mom is treating kidlet and me to a pedicure and lunch at a Caribbean/Cuban/African restaurant called Salvadore Molly's. Sunday kidlet and I cruise to the beach to get her egg she found last weekened. Gotta figure out a way to keep that so it doesn't stink. Hrmm. Oh and I am squeezing in 4 hours somewhere on Saturday. Most likely early AM. Shooting for 21 hour of OT which will be my most in since Oct of last year. This payperiod and the next. If I can swing it.

And now I leave you with another lesser known artist I discovered in the early 80's. Mr. Joe Jackson with Steppin Out and Is She Really Going Out With Him?

The Shock Of Lightning

Oh my god, I am old. How did I do this overtime shit, deal with a kid who went to school downtown at the time, and keep my house clean?!? I can do MAYBE 15 hours a payperiod of overtime and that takes pretty much every once of energy I have. Here I am at the office on Saturday again! Not next Saturday though. Kidlet, mom and I are getting toes done and lunch at a Cuban restaurant.

Kidlet is doing better. Had back to school night on Thursday and met her teachers. It was a huge step up from last year. This year they seem to have their shit together and actually care about the kids success. Her math teacher is a far far cry from Welter Skelter last year. Thank God.

I did give her principal the stink eye and this time around there were NO promises about parental notification etc etc. I guess he took our threat to video tape him lying seriously! The Garden Gnome.

This morning I went over and hauled Kidlet out of bed at 7am, fed her, gave her 20 bucks and stuck her on the bus for her Leadership trip to the beach for the twice yearly statewide Beach Clean Up. Her dad has her and I have Miss H coming over tonight for food, booze and bitching. Should be good. Once I change the cat boxes that is.

Glad I shared that tidbit, ain't ya?

I leave you with the UNA-BROW BOYS...aka Oasis and their new song. What with The Verve and Oasis having new albums out I can damn near close my eyes and pretend it is 1995 ;0

Not Another Existential Cowboy And No More California Champagne

TIRED. T.I.R.E.D.

Our weather is mucho fucked up. Friday - Sunday it was over 100. Saturday night we had massive lightning and thunder. Yesterday it was hazy. Today it dropped down to the 70's, we had more lightning and thunder and currently it looks like late October outside. 63 with drizzle and fog.

Mmmk.

I worked Saturday from 7-1 and then got Kidlet and we went over to mom's. My dad's cousin David and his wife Linda were up for two nights. David is the lead singer of the band It's A Beautiful Day. Those of you familiar with the with the San Francisco sound of the 60's will know this one.

We all had way too much food. Mom makes the most kick ass shrimp pasta salad. And fried chicken. And ribs. And potato salad. And berry cobbler. You get my point. After that kidlet and I chilled and watched The Ruins which sucked for the most part. I hate it when the annoying douchebag bimbos are the only ones who live and the characters do things a 2 year old would realize is stupid. It wasn't a good sucky movie if you know what I mean.

Kidlet left yesterday to going camping with her dad and his girlfriend and her family. It's a yearly tradition and the Semi Step is going as well so she is looking forward to it. Of course it is going to pour rain on them but that's the way it goes here in Oregon. She was supposed to be driving up with the Girlfriends sister but the chick took FOREVER to get over there to get her. Seriously her dad and girlfriend left around 2 and Tracy didn't get Kidlet until after 6pm! Her dad was not happy about that. He had not realized she was gonna be stuck in a house that has no Air Conditioning on a 95 degree day with no food.

She called me and I took her over a Subway sandwich and drink and hung out with her for awhile. It was friggin hot in the house so I took her to DQ for a Sunday. Hopefully she is gonna have some fun despite of the weather sucking ass.

Today I did a 10 hour day and I am now relaxing on the couch surfing the net and watching the only man I'd ever marry, Anthony Bourdain. Well I suppose I'd force myself to marry John Cusack as well. But I digress.

Tony is in Spain tonight. Oh my God do I want to go there. It is the one country in Europe I didn't make it to that I would LOVE to visit. Those brown vases up above in the picture? Chocolate eggs. He ate some of the most amazing looking food I have ever seen on this show or any other and I watch a LOT of food porn. The dude in the forest who grills amazing food...Lordy!

Just read an nice little tidbit about Heath Ledger's last film. Which is not The Dark Knight, btw. The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is the Terry Gilliam (of Monty Python fame) film which is in fact his final film. They were filming literally a day or so before he died. For a while the fate of the movie was up in the air. But then Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell stepped in. Due to the storyline Heath's character was able to be played by 4 different actors, one for every time period the character is in. The trio of actors will complete the scenes left when Heath died and in the final cut all 4 of them will play the character Tony.

What makes this particularly sweet is the fact that Johnny, Jude and Colin donated all of their salaries to little Matilda Ledger. That's class.

Tomorrow at the office we are having our Sales Admin luncheon. Meaning our boss is taking us out to lunch. Had a meeting with her today and it went well. My project is moving along although I am fairly certain I am not going to be able to hit Go when I am actually able to START it due to needing "buy in" or sign off or other business speak for bureaucracy. But hey, by December or so I might just drag my job description into the 20th (yes I said 20th) century. It's still a clunky process but it is better. And I won't kill so many trees.

And now it is time for Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and Weeds! Cheese and weed and MILF's, oh my!

I leave you with Harvey Danger and today's post title song, Sad Sweetheart of the Rodeo. Oh and if our Sweetheart looks familiar...It's Ione Skye. Otherwise known as Diane Cort of Say Anything fame. Amazingly enough I manage to reference both her and Cusack in one post. Ione is Donovan's (Mellow Yellow man) daughter, she was married to Adrock of the Beasties, lived with Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and is now married to Ben Lee. And for your final piece of pointless music trivia, my most favorite DJ, Greg Glover was the producer of Harvey Danger's first album which included the song Flagpole Sitta. Go Greg!

Must. Have. Minty. Ice. Cream.

When Premise Explodes And The Room Starts To Shake

Ever had a moment where the date on the calendar totally betch slaps you? That happened yesterday. The Charity Auction is 1 week and as of yesterday I am locked into lunch time chip and ticket sales followed by counting of cash and logging of payroll deduction slips.

AHH!!

When the hell did it become this late in the year?!?!?!

Plus I am back to working some OT which is great since I get a whopping 31 hour paycheck tomorrow. THAT will be fun.

Kidlet and her dad are going to a salon tonight for a hair cut and color as she was going to do it tomorrow with Mom. Love Mom but she has a tendency to cut a wee bit more than asked for and Kidlet's dad is adamant that Kidlet not end up with a gym teacher bowl cut, if you get my drift :P

REM is playing the Sasquatch Festival this year. Only thing with Sasquatch is I don't camp on my own. Might as well hang a sign on your tent that says single female come get me! But REM and The Cure and Modest Mouse and The Flaming Lips are playing so Kidlet has persuaded her dad to take her. I'd love to see REM but I can't afford the ticket plus hotel cost plus fuel cost. But the B52's are playing in May and tickets for them are only 20 bucks. That I can swing. Kidlet and I will go see them at the Roseland.

Alright, duty calls. Gotta go sort out a lost check issue.

All Dressed Up Like A Switchblade Knife

Ok this sleeping in is messing with me. I get more sleep and I forget more things. What is up with that? Left Kidlets guitar leaning against the wall in my hallway. Now poor Kidlet and my Mom have to rush to get it and deal with the alarm. Doh.

But I do seem to notice that the extra sleep and the lack of working 50+ hour weeks has left me feeling more...present. Hard to describe, as rested or awake is not quite what I am looking for. More like, "oh wow look at the world!" Which is pretty frickin sad. 6 years of working over 2300 hours a year will wear ya down. At this rate, by July I will be working on May - if we are really f'in lucky- and I will be in school. The fact that I had to cancel my summer trip bites, but in the end the trade off of school now and quit sooner makes it worth it. Life moves fast, as the commercial likes to say and kidlet is already half way through 7th grade. Graduation will be here sooner than it appears and then, oh happy days, I can move. Hopefully Atlanta won't be out of water by then :P

This weekend, Kidlet is going with my mom to a pearl show while I hang with Gramps and then Kidlet and my dad are reviewing for her math final. Then we hit the mall (eek) for a wee bit of slacks and shirts shopping. Other than that, I think my weekend looks like one thing...laundry. Oh JOY!

And now, I present Foxboro Hot Tubs - Mother Mary for your listening pleasure. There is no video, cause if there was it would give away their super secret squirrel identity...Green Day. C'mon guys, give us an album already!

Famous Sounding Words Make Your Head Feel Light

Wanna know what is not pretty? Having a dream you are puking and then waking up and realizing you juuuuust might. Bleh. Was home yesterday with stomachus upsetus. I actually felt better by the afternoon after I ate something. My dad and grandfather had stomach issues and co workers have as well. Of course after the Norovirus week in August it takes a lot to phase me now. THAT was some sick. I once had true flu with a temp of over 106. Don't remember the drive home from work. Do remember calling my mom and saying, " I'm cold" and then hanging up. When she got there I had the heat jacked to 80, sweats on, and was cowering under a blanket. That is what a 106 plus temp will do for you. And I STILL felt better with that than I did with the Noro crap. That stuff....jebus. I will never ever ever take a cruise for fear of that happening again. Pass!

Saw Sweeney again on Saturday night with Mom and Kidlet. If you have not yet seen Sweeney, you need to. I totally intend to own it on DVD but really it needs to be seen at least once on the big screen. Mom loved it and Kidlet of course adores it. She is so a musical theater geek waiting to blossom.

Sunday, kidlet and I hung out with Gramps while Mom and Dad got out of the house for a walk and to get pizza. Then we watched Masterpeice Theater's latest adaptation of Jane Eyre. It was quite good. Managed to make it gothic without totally going overboard. The Bronte's can veer in the cheesetastic with lightening speed in the wrong hands.

Next Saturday I start my respite care days with Gramps for 6 hours at a time so mom can get out and not go bonkers. He's a cranky ole fart and stubbornness seems to run in our family, so it could be fun :P

At work, and swamped. Not that I am stressing about it this year. We have some state law changes that are HUGE and will effect us pretty heavily and as per usual, the impact on MY job was not really thought about. Fortunately I have folks who have my back and asked them about it. See...I can't do my job if I don't have the tools, and these changes will necessitate a major re-write and re-vamp of our already temperamental (read - bugged and band aid fixed for 5 years) proprietary software. Without this, I will be able to do nothing -not one tiny part- of my job. Not even my usual data entry and wait for generation of the templates plan when I am on hold for changes. I mean zippolla. Apparently when this was mentioned to the powers that be the collective reaction was something along the lines of, "Oh. We hadn't thought about that."

I be am invisible!

Shazaam!

On a funny cause I think they are twee and not cause I think domestic violence is groovy note, the keyboard player Marty Crandal was arrested for beating up his girlfriend Elyse Sewell from America's Next Top Model Season 1 fame.

Ahh The Shins. Changing lives via a "blitzkreig of violence" and sappy frickin songs in Zach Braff movies. Go, Portland Indie Hipsters, Go!

I Almost Fell Into That Hole In Your Life

I am still home today, released to go back to work tomorrow. This was one very very nasty illness. I made it to Dead Fred's yesterday and got my shopping and school supply list covered, and then came home and passed out on the couch for another couple of hours. On the plus side I ate *TWO* meals yesterday and actually had coffee for the first time since Aug 26th. That is how sick I was.

Kidlet started Jr High today. 7th Grade. It was a cattle call outside the school today and it was just the 7th graders. 8th comes back and classes begin tomorrow. Today is a special orientation for the 7th gr kids. Kidlet is excited and a bit freaked over the 5 minutes between classes. Her school is fairly decent sized so I don't blame her. As per usual, she looks about 4 grades higher than her classmates. Heck last year they lost her pictures sending them around the district trying to figure out who this "student teacher" was cause they didn't get that she was a 6th grader. And that was before discovered eyeliner. Forget about it now.

178 bucks in fees, pictures, lunches etc. Fees for art class, home economics and shop. Did we have fees for regular classes, for god's sake? I know we had to buy supplies (fabric, woods, pastels) but these fees are on top of those. And I love supplying paper and pens and Kleenex for the entire school. I just know in 20 years time we are going to find out about wide scale embezzlement in the Oregon government. We have damn near the highest property taxes and state income taxes in the nation, not to mention a lottery, and our public schools suck ass. Hard.

I am picking up Miss Thang after school and we are going to eat and then to see The Zombinator's version of Halloween. I think I am finally up to it. I feel fairly human today thank goodness. Tomorrow, after I drop off Kidlet, I have to report to employee health at the frickin hospital and get cleared to go back to work. Then I get to turn around and go back to my office. That is retarded.

More coffee I think, it finally tastes good again. Glad to be back!

She Was Practiced At The Art Of Deception

Ahh....the office. Love that new office smell courtesy of the carpet cleaners. Not enjoying the loud ass noise from the cleaners.

Kidlet and I just had lunch, and she is now over at her Dad's until tomorrow. I am off to make coffee and slaughter trees in my pursuit of legalese.

Here is the question I am currently pondering. Who pissed Kelly Clarkson off so badly?! That song Never Again is about the most bitter song I have heard since Alanis Morissette let loose with You Outta Know. Kidlet and I watched the video this morning and we were like, DAMN!

If she got together with Carrie Underwood and her Louisville Slugger, some poor schmuck will be missing a nut or two.

And now...COFFEE ~

We Could Be Heros, Just For One Day

Having a David Bowie rock out moment. I suppose if I were forced to choose one song, Hero's would be it. Love that song. At work. Everyone is super cranky. My boss just pawed through my printing (large excel spreadsheet with attachments) and got it all out of order. I am breathing in slowly and doing my Jedi Zen Mind Trick to calm myself.

Whacking ones boss with a stapler is generally not a move guaranteed to increase your upward mobility. The weather is odd. It looks like we have a frosting of white sand outside. It's freezing fog. I HATE this weather in this state. Oregonians are such piss poor drivers to begin with, they really do not need the addition of any sort of inclement weather funsies.

I am locking my earphones in place and heading back to the back to put together my packets today and tomorrow. No school so I do not have to go play Kidlet Pick-me-up and I can really pack on the overtime. I am shooting for 35 hours this pay period. I seriously need to get caught up. Of course my program is still hosed so creating my jobs is taking for ever.

Get this, we have a group of our IT guys, the Vendor's IT guys, and some Microserfs all working on fixing this issue. They are called "The Anonymous Software Vendor Application_01 SWAT TEAM.

SWAT TEAM. Capitals their call, btw. Do you see what I am dealing with here? This application went tit's up on Oct 6th. It's Dec 18th.

I am screwed :P

Pressure's Gonna Drop On You

Well chalk up another reason to dislike work meetings. Toxic Danish. Driving to get small child after school on Friday I darn near had to pull over and barf on the interstate. Joy. Ended up staying home. Didn't work this weekend either. I need the money like crazy, but frankly the futility of nothing working right here at the office is getting to me in a big way.

On the plus side I got a new monitor that is bigger, a flat panel, and doesn't have epilepsy. Woot!

Kiddlet had a halloween party on Friday, and man did I do a good job with her dead bride makeup and hair. She was lovin it. And she had a great time, so all was good. 20 girls together on sugar was my idea of a nightmare at age 11, but to each their own. She is waaaay more social than I was. Or am. Or ever will be.

Today small child is going to be forced into slave labor after school. I have many envelopes to seal and she is just the mini me to do it. Seeing that she has, in the past, out worked our temps, it's a big help to have her willing to do that. And I think she gets a kick out of it.

Tomorrow we go back to the ortho clinic to re-xray her ankle and see what is the skinny on that. I hope we are done with it. That has been a serious pain in the arse. Then on to my mom's for Halloween. We'll eat dinner there and then do the rounds of that neighborhood. Then stop off and model the outfit for Gramps and then she and her dad are off to his place for trick or treating there as well. I will be going home and going to bed. Sad to say that sleeping is about the only thing I look forward to or enjoy these days. I don't need a day off, I need to get the hell out of this state and get a real mental break. Otherwise all I have to look forward to is the blur of the holidays followed by my 50 hour weeks Jan-Mar. Once again I will surface for air around March and realize I am another year older and it never dawned on me on the day.

Oh and for the curious, that would be the Specials version on the song I am thinking of.

Man am I perky today or what?!

Blearg.
