Ear Peircing

After about 3 weeks of asking to get their ears peirced I took the Twins to the mall to get them done. We had tried to talk them out of it but over and over they kept saying they wanted it. They did great and loved them (and still do). Paige wanted to get very large diamonds for her earings but we told her you had to be 16 to get those. After we looked at earings and jewlery, then got smelly lotion on their arms and looked at prom dresses. They thought it was such a fun day. They can't wait to change their earrings, but they have to wait until after their birthday. They are constantly having me do their hair so people can see their earrings. (if your asking why Madi didn't, she says she's going to wait until she's 12)

Broken Bones

we have been pretty luck when it comes to broken bones. We haven't had any until this summer. Then we had two. First Madi was playing and ran into the corner of the entertainment center and broke her little toe. We thought she did but we had it confirmed by xray's two weeks later when we took Isaah in to get his cast on. Her foot was still bothering her. We just continued taping it and he said in about 2 more weeks it would be completely healed. One night about a week later the kids were up late and Isaah was flying his helicopter. The helicopter landed on the entertainment center. Instead of asking for help he stood on the couch and reach for it. Splat! He fell off screaming "Somebody help me, I broke my arm" Crying he tells me "I heard it snap". Great I am thinking. I really didn't want to look at it thinking it was a compound fracture with bones poking out. I looked though and it wasn't. He sat there screaming, not crying screaming and all the while Chad is telling him to buck up he doesn't need to cry. I told him I would have to take him to the hospital (which he does not usually want to do and avoids dr.'s at all costs) he said okay. Well we knew the pain must be bad. A half hour later the screaming has finally stopped at we were in the ER. Yep, he broke his arm about an inch down from his wrist. A week later he got a cast on. Then another week he got a waterproof cast on. About a month later off came the cast just in time for school to start.

1st Day of School

School has started here in NV, where it has been averaging 104 degrees lately. We are doing a little homeschool Preschool with the twins this year rotating with some friends. We had the first week at our house. It went great and the kids loved it. We learned some numbers, letters, did painting, played games, and even made our own brown bear books. There are 5 kids in class all going to kindergarten next year. We do it two days a week for 3 hours. Isaah and Madi are glad to be back in school to see friends and learn lots of new things. Isaah and Madi each had a spelling test on Friday and both got A's on them. Way to go.

Odds n Ends

Isaah has changed his mind about what he wants to be when he grows up. He wants to be a Professional Fisherman, so he can get paid to do what he loves. I had to chuckle at the last part of it. (Yes, he said it exactly like that)

Madi informed me this morning (saturday) that she's not getting dressed today (out of her pj's). She doesn't have school today so she's not getting dressed today, I don't need to, and I want to stay in my pj's all day.

I just thought I would let you in on some of the great insights my two oldest give me.

Madi's 7th Bday

Madi had a great day on her birthday. She recieved lots of fun presents from family and friends. She loves her new radio that we have to listen to Hannah on. She spent the day meeting her new teacher and then in the afternoon having a swim party in our back yard. Her grandpa Bernie came down along with his dad, Grandpa Vernon to help her celebrate. Madi had a Tinkerbell pinata and then they also played pin the lips on Hannah. It was a very hot day and the kids cooled off by swimming and then swiming some more.
