Berkley's Birthday

Berkley turned the big #3 on the 22nd! He woke up that morning and said, "Look mom, I growed!" I played along and told him he grew so much in the night. He was so proud of himself. He wanted a Hot Wheels party, so I found a cute race track cake to make. He helped me make it all day while Savanna played at her friend's house. It turned out so cute, and he loved it so much! It is so crazy how the littlest things make kids so happy. Anyway, we invited Grandma and Grandpa McEwan over for pizza and cake, and honestly, it was just as fun for him as having a bunch of kids over. Mike got him a Cars balloon that talked (I know, sounds crazy), and I wanted to shoot myself, but Berkley was in heaven. Don't tell him but I just killed all the balloons and took them out to the garbage, because I couldn't stand it any longer. It's a good thing he forgets so easily. A week later, he is still telling me that he is "free"(three) now. So cute! I could just eat him!!!

Valentine's Girls Night Out!!!

So I have to say that Andra Stoker is one of the most fun and creative friends that I have. She has an annual girls Valentine's party every year where we all bring valentines and swap with each other. I just got pictures of it off of her blog, so here they are. I know it is a little bit late, but I had to post them. It was such a blast! She is such an amazing hostess and throws the best parties! It was so fun being able to have a girls night out...and the Valentine's were so creative!

We have been in Disneyland for the last week, and the two words that come to mind are WORN OUT! We went with Matt and Carrie's family, and the kids had so much fun together. Here is a list of our favorite things on our trip:

Savanna: All the princesses, "Alice in Wonderland" ride, Disneyland parades, "Soaring over California", the roller coaster in Toon Town, Finding Nemo submarine ride, being with her cousins, being a Jedi Knight

Little Sweetie

Here is Maddox yesterday after I gave him a bath. He smiles ALL day long. I feel so bad for the little guy, being the third child and all. You don't even have to pay attention to him to get him to smile. All you have to do is walk by him, and he will smile and coo. His face muscles probably hurt by the end of the day. I really can't get enough of the kid.

Our Dear Prophet

I know that I am a little behind, but I had to say something about our beloved Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley. Every time I heard him speak, I felt the spirit so strongly. He has been the prophet for more than half of my life, and I am so grateful. I will never forget how he spoke about his wife, Margorie, and what an example he was to the world. I am so happy for him, though, that he gets to be with his sweet wife again. This is one of my favorite Gordon B. Hinckley quotes:

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us,...if we put our trust in Him, if we pray to Him, if we live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

This quote is especially meaningful to us right now in our lives, where everything seemed to fall apart all at once. Mike and I keep telling each other that we are going to be fine, and Heavenly Father will answer our prayers. I pray to Heavenly Father every night and tell him how grateful I am for our trials. I know that it could be so much worse, and that we are blessed. I am so grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and to know the things that I know. I don't know where I would be in life without that precious knowledge.

Maddox - Our Dog?

Church was only 2 hours instead of three today because it was dumping snow! I feel like we live in Park City! Mike honestly shovels 2 hours a day to keep our driveway clear! It is so out of control. Mike's awesome parents watch Maddox while we are at church every Sunday. He has already had RSV this season so we would rather not have round #2. Mike was just getting ready to go pick up Maddox after church, and Berkley asked when we are going to pick up our dog! He thinks he is so funny and has been calling Maddox our dog today. I think it is because he saw a picture of Mad in a bear snowsuit, and thought he looked like a dog... or maybe he just thought it up himself. I don't know. He is a total goof-ball.

Winter Fun!!!

OK, so call me neglectful or whatever you want to, but I have never taken my kids sledding! It's awful, I know, and when I think of it I feel bad, but I REALLY hate being cold. I don't know how I snowboarded all those years!!! Anyway, Savanna wanted to play out in the snow for family home evening the other night, so I sucked it up, and went outside with them. Of course, the baby started crying the second he breathed in the freezing air, so I had to take him back in, and Mike played with them the rest of the time. Needless to say, a few days later, Berkley and I went to Target and bought the last sleds they had in the store. They were only 4.99 each, and were obviously crappy because nobody wanted them, but they did the job. So we just went to Savanna's kindergarten sledding party, and decided that we will buy sleds first thing next winter so we can get good ones. Now I feel better and can say that I HAVE taken my kids sledding!

Skateboarder

It is so crazy, but Berkley is a natural at skateboarding. It is one of his favorite things to do, and he especially loves to skateboard with his Daddy outside in our driveway. I LOVE these pictures of him. I just want to squeeze him!
