TELEPHERIQUE-Sound Object-(Ant-Zen-c46-Germany-1993)
The project Telepherique began in 1989 with the intention to explore processes and working with people of different cultures. They started with mail-art projects, co-operation, and communication with people all over the world. Basically, Telepherique is Klaus, Danijela and Rene Jochim, from Würzburg, Germany, but there were others that became members of Telepherique, because of the massive collaborations and projects: Ulf Harr, Echart Seilacher, Harry Lüftl, Stefan Au, Stefan Alt and Karin... The name Telepherique is the French word for the funicular railway. This name was chosen because of the intention of gaining a view from a higher level.
Ant-Zen is deduced from "Anti Zensur" (= anti-censorship).
Ant-Zen is the most important label in the newer German Industrial scene. It started in the early 90s as a tape label that later also released vinyl and CDs. Mastermind S.Alt (Stefan Alt) also did most of the layouts and packaging of the releases. While the earlier releases are more into noise, the new output has a more technoid style that is still very experimental.
Ant-Zen was the German distributor of a lot of other labels and ran a small mailorder until 2019 when they discontinued putting out physical releases and switched to all-digital.

"The first two tracks are by NOSTALGIE ETERNELLE - "Absorbed In Thought" is a fast little number with a strong dramatic atmosphere to it, sounding not totally unlike THE CURE in a more Electronic frame of mind. "Without You" has a peculiar construction - bleeping synth and what sounds like backward drums form a stiff construction for the vocalists distorted voice to drool across. NEW-DA offer the next two - "Politiko" entering on a huge sweep of synth before the guitar snarls and swirls not unlike a bagpipe sound. It soon picks up to be a running-speed heavy thing owing as much to Punk as to the Experimental scene. The vocals have a savage sped-up sound to them, a little like the sound a caged Wildcat might make. Its good stuff that would get people moving on the dance floor. "E Così Sia" follows - same tempo but a little less dense with harmonic vocals from ANGELICA over the top, fast yet warm music to keep you up and moving. DIX TIAU PIA offer the last two on side one - "Laughing Aspid" opens to radio voices before crashing through dimensions with an awe-inspiring construction - you feel they're using a fairly limited selection of instruments, but they push them to extremes, achieving some brilliant effects which really have to be heard. "Shadows" is a little more upbeat and full of interesting sounds - it reminds me a little of "Day Breaks, Night Heals" by LEAR/RENTAL, although this is a lot more commercial.
Side two opens with the first of two from L.A.S.'s CRIME "The Marble Of Punishment" which is a complex rhythm of samples, some of them vocal, others percussive. It then transforms into something with a much fuller sound - big keyboard sounds which sparkle and glisten like Acid Rain. Their sound makes me think they perhaps traced modern Experimental / Electronic / Industrial music back to THE NORMAL's single, then went off at a tangent from there. "Hypochromatik" is another similar track full of thunderous white noise drum sounds punctuating the entire pattern. Good stuff which would sound even better as a whole album, Then comes TITO TURBINA TAST. FUT. with "La Legge È Legge", a catchy, moving rhythmic thing sounding like a Steel Band letting off steam. "Prima Danza" follows that, a little more dignified pace, but they still manage to retain the huge size of the music. Their music is repetitive but then this is half of the attraction. The last two tracks come from RADICAL CHANGE - "A-Normal" opens to a sort of sustained machine sound, fading to nothing after 44 seconds. "Il Seme" is an Industrial synthesizer thing which sounds full of interesting tones, despite its being a minimalist thing. You think its finally faded away, then it bursts back into life again. Following this is a slice of spoken word, echoed into crazed patterns, then stolen away before you can really focus.
An interesting little compilation introducing groups it'll be worth your while getting to know. It has one or two weak moments, but overall is as strong as iron.

v.a.-The Power And The Passion Vol III-(Irre Tapes-Germany-c46-1991)

A bunch of good artists playing electronic music in various forms and shapes...
Irre Tapes was run by Matthias Lang which evolved out of the IRRE Fanzine he published regularly during the early 1980's covering New Wave, Post Punk and the German Underground.
With his 3rd Tape Compilation Ein Herz In Not he started IRRE Tapes which was mainly active in the late 80s/early 90s and released material by the likes of Brume, Maeror Tri and City Of Worms and loads of lesser known and stylistic different artists (Unpleasant Surprise, The Fuckedtones, Magic Moments At Twilight Time, Doc Wör Mirran) covering the whole range of the Independent Underground from Experimental Electronica to Guitar Pop.
In true DIY spirit, he supported the international network of small labels and fanzines through editing the free IRRE Newsletter to spread info and contacts and writing occasional reviews for various publications. Most of his Compilations should be seen as an attempt to promote lesser-known artists and labels. Without a doubt, he was one of the driving forces of the German Tape Scene.
He finally called the label days quits in 1994/1995 but soon re-appeared as collaborating and networking artist Mr. Moto (2).(from discogs)

DECA-Estinzione-(Minus Habens-Italy-c46-1989)
Deca is the project of Italian sound artist Federico De Caroli- active since at least 1986 he has been creating a rather large opus of releases in the realms of experimental electronic music... to quote elsewhere: "Deca is the musical "alchemist" (as he is known in Italy) Federico De Caroli. He has gradually moved from the spacey and melodic style reminiscent of Jarre and Tangerine Dream that dominated his early works to a more experimental sound, involving elements of industrial, noise, "musique concrete" and even Dark Ambient."
Enjoy it.

SOLANACEAE TAU-Outdoor Expressions-(Irre Tapes-Germany-c46-1990)
Solanaceae Tau was
founded in the early 80ties and made a
lot of releases in the tape industrial and gothic scene in Germany,
Holland, France, Italy, UK and after the departure of their
female vocalist they etablished (after a break) in a new personal
structure with the same project`s name in 1998. The musical base is
inspirated to the dark wave music from the eighties:psychedelic and EBM
with some of the neo folk / gothic music of today mixed with collages
and
tapeworks.
The project members
are Jason Fretz (guitar) Nicci Harrington (vocals ) and Axaxaxs (
synkussion, keyboards, tapes ).They compose and produce their music in
their own small
studio with reel tape machines, computers and virtual and real
instruments.(info taken from Soundclick).
I already posted A Chemical In Debris and Transgerman Mind Configuration, both amazing tapes by this great anti-fascist electro project. I also already wrote about Irre Tapes German label run by Matthias Lang which evolved out of the IRRE Fanzine
