P820P - 2000 Dead Priests -(Self Released-Italy-1999)

P820P was a band from Rome (Italy)active at the end of the 90s. The members were involved in the squatting/anarchist scene, organizing activites in the famous Torre Maura squat. This tape is difficult to find nowadays, the recording is pretty good and the folded cover-sleeve reports info and lyrics. As for the music expect powerviolence and grind-core with double vocals shouting anger and hate against religion/state/army...

To complete this post, I add a few flyers from these glory days when P820P were playing.

DESASTRE/LIXO - Funeral Na Nova Ordem -(Sin Fronteras Records-Usa-1999)

 

This split should be considered among the classics. This is some of the rawest and most straight forward hardcore. It does not merely chainsaw your face off; it wears it too. Desastre's aggression wallops you with every riff and does not strain to keep it all under control; while, Lixo, merely kicks your teeth in and call it a day.    Diaspora was a hardcore punk band from Finland. Members also played in "Alakulttuurin Kusipäät", Kansalaistottelemattomuus, Olotila, Pax Americana, Positive Negative, Anti Maschistas, Domo Arigato, Haymarket Eight, Life's A Riot!, Scumbrigade, Sista Civilisationens Död, This Is Not A Game Of Who The Fuck Are You, Umbrella Tribe, War Of Words, Yuppiecrusher, Eristetyt, Lapinpolthajat, Kurwa Aparata, Rajat, Riistetyt, Sotatila, and Turun Tauti. This album came out as a co-production amongst various cool independent punk record labels. Enjoy it.

HARDCORES - Hardcores- (Nobody Records-Finland-1999)

 Hardcores was a Thrash band from Oulu, Finland. They were active between 1991 and 1997.This 7 inch was released in 1999 as limited edition of 300 hand-numbered copies: 200 copies on black vinyl [this entry] and 100 copies on blue vinyl.  7 tracks of furious HC punk on this self released 7inch by the American Scorned! I wrote about them when I posted their split 7 inch with the Canadians Hellbound.

BAND OF PAIN-Reculver-(Dirter Promotions-UK-1999)

 A very interesting cd by Band Of Pain aka Steve Pittis playing a good dose of quiet-noize mixing etheral industrial sounds with some dronish ambient experiments.It was released in 500 copies back in 1999 and it appears to be sold out now.

 Dirter Promotions is Steve Pittis personal label active since the 1980s and still alive and kicking, its amazing webpage offers to us its late producions, news, its long discography and more.

Massive Mail Art documentation released by the City Library of Barreiro in Portugal for their 11th Mail Art exihibition held from the 27th of November to the 18th December 1999.

The documentation is a 148 pages long book printed on glossy paper containing 726 Art Works received for their mail art project/exhibition from 38 different countries.

Very well done and professionally printed,this is a great example of Mail Art networking.Enjoy it.

MANEURYSM-Dissecting The Remains Of Humanity-(Yellow Dog Records-Germany-1999)

Amazing lp by this American hardcore band from Manitowoc, Wisconsin. They play a great mix of dark HC punk with grindcore alternating melody and samples of vocals about destruction, annihilation and misery. 

They remind me some stuff by early Neurosis and Amebix. 

The lp is good all the tunes around...highly recommend for the lovers of powerful blackish Hardcore punk.

Catalogue Mail Art Exhibition by Syberia Nova Kultura Center-(Mail Art-Russia+Global Networking-1999)

Mail Art project with no specific subject launched by the Syberia Nova Kultura Center.

They did organize an exhibition on the 27th to the 30th of May 1999 and this is the full catalogue about their Mail Art show, it came with a separate booklet listing the addresses and info about the artists who took part in it.

Many great art-works from various parts of the world.

DIVINE INTOXICATION -The Invisible Imam-(Self Released-Marocco(?)-1999)

Another mystery tape, I know very little about this project, there are a few useful info coming with it yet not enough to be sure.

 It seems to be a Maroccan project,9 tunes of which 3 were recorded live.

The music is a kind of experimental dub with many references to the music/sounds and spirituality of the north African countries.

All the songs were composed from 1997 to 1999 yet it is not stated where and how they were recorded, though it sounds very DIY style.

"All Textures were woven and conceived by the Inebriated Assassin, guitar on `Hall Of THe Broken Dub Caravans` by Android, Thanx to Moth for technical help---Peace to Underground Illness Resisters Everywhere".

Besides this, the folded A4 b/w cover sleeve includes quite a few interesting thoughts, I invite you to read it and make up your mind about this mysterious project.

Great tape with original and personal sounds/music & concepts.
